MSNBC doesn’t need a laugh track

Wow. Seems a good half dozen on the left here sincerely don't see the irony in the MSNBC twit's opinion.
Some are trolling. Some are just blind to left-wing media bias. The trick here is sifting them into the two piles.

Look, I know many of you have embraced the idea that Republicans are now a party of martyrs, with no responsibility for their actions. It's always some big bad global force harming your candidates and your party. Good luck with that. Maybe someday, a responsible republican will step forth to try to re-instill some semblance of what the republican party once stood for. But I don't see it happening anytime soon.
No, they are not martyrs. You have this binary view here and it's leaving you a blind spot. The Republicans are like every major political party on the planet: largely full of shite. That they are like that is not proof that media outlets like Twitter aren't biased to the left.

That point may be true but is also a different thing than Trump repeatedly violating the terms of service of social media companies and then he and his supporters complain that he is being censored or treated unfairly because of his political views. That a platform does not permit you to lie repeatedly, and perhaps dangerously is not censorship. If anything, it is good corporate governorship.

From a brief search:

"Twitter said at the time it decided to block links to the story based on its “Hacked Material Policy” that prohibited “the use of our services to directly distribute content obtained through hacking that contains private information, may put people in physical harm or danger, or contains trade secrets.”

Do you disagree that's a valid business reason to block links?
Yes, I remember it well. The problem is you're not thinking critically.

First off, there was never a single piece of evidence to suggest the laptop was not Hunter's, most notably there was a complete lack of a clear answer from the Biden's regarding its ownership. Now even the left-wing media is acknowledging the laptop is Hunters; they just wanted to wait until after the election (do you recall those very words from the video in the OP?) Then you need to look at when Twitter didn't implement that same rule, most notably stories from The NY Times about several pages reported to be from Trump's tax returns. Trump could not have been more clear he did not wish his return to be made public, so it is almost a certainty whoever gave those pages to The Times released them illegally, i.e. that material was stolen from Trump. Yet Twitter did not block those links.

Think these things through.

Why was The Babylon Bee, a conservative leaning parody site, banned?

No I'm not going to spend any more time on it because I don't care.
Twitter is a private company. They can do what they want for any reason they want that is not contrary to law. So they didn't run with what was Number 100 out of the million supposed smoking gun stories on Hunter's laptop? I was not aware they were the only source of news. But this was supposedly some big deal to the republicans during the campaign? Why?
And yes, I will have the exact same approach if Musk takes over and makes Twitter the bastion of misinformation like Faux news. He can do what he wants.

Interesting; you were spending time until when you thought you had an argument.

No one is arguing Twitter doesn't have the right to be biased. We're saying that Twitter has been biased, and has literally been doing many of the things Melber claims he's worried about. The high comedy is that he doesn't see it.

It’s becoming very clear the left is worried about losing Twitter. As has been pointed out by others, The NY Times had no fewer than three opinion pieces on the story today …

1651020978702.png

They’re losing control, and they know it.

How dare Ari Melber expressed concern Elon Musk might make changes to Twitter that adversely affect the integrity of our American election processes.

Why do you think Twitter delayed publishing stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop? Did Twitter do it for nefarious reasons?

I say “I wish I got in on some of the shareholder gains! I neither fear nor cheer Elon Musk’s impending purchase of Twitter. I only made a few tweets in my life, usually with my butt or my nose, never with a keyboard. I read countless tweets. TikToks seem like the ”in thing” these days.”

What say you?

You could be right, or this could be a product of the right seeing bias and censorship in anything, anywhere or anybody that doesn't provide a platform for their frequently fringe right views.

So the whole purpose of this thread was to feign outrage that one person on the left was expressing concern that Musk would now use Twitter to trumpet right wing views because you believe they had been doing exactly the same thing the other way?

That’s just it. What Melber raised as a concern wouldn’t constitute a change. It would represent a continuation of political bias with only a change of allegiance. That he — and seemingly you — don’t see it is the funny part.

Why do you think Twitter delayed publishing stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop? Did Twitter do it for nefarious reasons?
No, they did it for political reasons. And they didn’t “delay” them. They actively suppressed links to them. It was as brazen a political stunt as I hope we will ever see from a major social media platform.

I say bravo, Elon Musk.

This is not outrage. I saw that clip and I literally burst out laughing as a supposedly informed political commentator working for one of the most politically biased news networks in existence is trying to make us believe that a social media platform known for left-wing bias might actually behave in a politically biased manner once owned by Elon Musk. It was a self-unaware a statement as one is likely to find. I then thought for a second the Twitter censors might have jumped the gun an allowed The Bee back on the platform, but no, the clip was genuine,

And it’s not just this one person. He was just more openly clueless about it so it made for a perfect example. The left-wing is practically hyperventalating over the loss of such an important ally. The NY Times had no fewer than three opinion pieces yesterday on Musk’s successful bid. Sen. Warren was treating about it. CNN was singing and dancing all day long. They all see the same thing: the most politically important of the major social media platforms will likely no longer be politically compliant. Not good news if managing the message is your aim.

Melber knows. He's just pandering to the fears of his audience, and it is damn funny watching him try to do it. Twitter's about to get all Musky. OTOH, it could be that Musk wants to make Twitter profitable. I know it's crazy, but if I had just invested $44 billion in a company, I'd have plans to get a return on that investment, and I think share holders endorse that approach - another crazy notion. Musk will be touching the sacred knobs and dials. It'll be like the Visigoths sacking Rome, raping and pillaging - pouring wine over their dicks...

Said the guy who can barely go a day without posting a Fox headline as an OP.🤣🤣🤣
well, fox was correct on both Russian collusion and the H Biden laptop story... they have gotten it right more often than any other media outlet for the last several years.

Did you read the parts of the laptop story that involved the repairman John Paul Mac Isaac and Trump crony Rudy Giuliani?

Of course you don’t realize you promote views consistent with conspiracy theories. DP maintains a Conspiracy Theory sub-forum.

Even the NY Times and WaPo acknowledge the laptop is Hunters. The conspiracy theory was the claim that it was "Russian disinformation." Did you believe that, too? (Or do you still?)

This is beyond comedy and has hit a new level of absurdity.

Yes, just imagine if something like that were to happen …

In the past, I would’ve said that if Twitter is completely unfiltered, it’s going to become as reliable as something like the national Inquirer- something that people read for entertainment value but so ridiculous that people don’t really take seriously.

But in this era, it seems people take even the most crazy stuff very seriously. So I don’t know anymore.

Well, the purchase is big news.
And since "managing the message" of Twitter was not in the control of the entities you cited anyway, nothing lost.

Were any of the opinion pieces you referenced along the lines of: "so sad here at......., we will no longer control the message of Twitter, even though we never did, we still won't. But the conspiracy minded right thinks we did. So they are happy."

Loads of evidence exists that Russian operatives attempt to tinker with American political processes to affect outcomes.

Noted, you opted not to make a single comment about the repairman or Giuliani’s involvement. Do those guys fit your notion of trusted servants?

With regard to Hunter’s laptop, by sometime in October 2020, both the DOJ and Spy Chief John Rattcliffe (DNI) debunked any speculation Russian operatives tinkered with the laptop.

Melber knows. He's just pandering to the fears of his audience, and it is damn funny watching him try to do it.
It's not just him. Alot of morons in the media are doing it. It's like a Fear Porn all-you-can-eat buffet.

Yup. Around DP, the left claims it doesn't bother them a bit. They just want that nurse to get back to them to change the bandages and bring more of those pills. They're fine. Really. Fine. Don't care. Never even heard of Twatter. It's the site that gives you the bird, anyway.

You mean lies like the laptop actually belonging to Hunter Biden?
No, you mean lies like YOU (and people like you) actually pretending that ANYONE ever claimed that Hunter Biden doesn't own a damn laptop.

You know anyone like that, @NatMorton ?

If you try hard (and look in the mirror)....I think you'll get it.

When you can fine ANYONE who EVER claimed that Hunter Biden never owned, possessed or used a laptop....please come back and post that information for us, OK?

That said.....please be sure to come back and tell us all when your people are able to find all of the evidence of corruption and conspiracy between Hunter, Joe, Barisma and the Ukranian government, as well, ok? After all, we all know that's REALLY what you people said about "Hunter's laptop", don't we?
