Ms. Vike-Freiberga had trapped herself by her Nazi policy. EU constantly reproves Latvia for such position. Now it’s enough small hint for final discrediting of Latvians in Europeans opinion. And Latvian president had got up many enemies against her. Eccentric Jewish oligarch Boris Berezovsky pretending himself as influential political force in the world is one of them. Berezovsky has his own bought journalists in staff of nearly every European publishing house and had entire channel on Latvian television till recently. Ms. Freiberga has deprived him of it and got strong enemy.
Soon Berezovsky will begin new active campaign in Latvia. Latvian authorities are going to accuse disfranchised Russian Latvians (that’s a fourth of entire Latvian population!) in enjoying support of Russians who are sympathizing with them. As expected result Latvian president would answer at it with irate attacks and new discriminatory restrictions against most unprotected level of Latvian population. Vike-Freiberga would be entrapped. It’s quite easy for Berezovsky to foment great scandal in mass media. And at the same time he has grudge against Russia. Thus he wants to kill two birds with one stone and Ms. Freiberga’s well-known fascist position just plays into his hands. Also there might be some provocated nasty disorders or acts of terrorism committed by Chechen allies of Berezovsky living in Latvia as finishing blow just before NATO summit that would demonstrate inability of Ms. Freiberga to establish order in the country. That may cost Vike-Freiberga her presidency.

They say that he’d managed to stand in Blair’s way announcing his intention to carry out exhibition of scandalous caricatures of Prophet in London. Evidently that caused Straw’s sharp cavils concerning him. So that’s not the first time when Berezovsky weaves a plot against the head of a state and every time his provocations become more impudent.
