Mr Cameron: do we really want Turkey in the EU?

do we really want Turkey in the EU?

This all comes down to whether the point of the European Union is economic or cultural. If it's about economic development and mutual benefit through wider markets then I say yes. If it's about a cultural development and cultural integration - then I say get the UK out first please.

That's not because of Turkey wishing to join but because I wish to see the UK retain its sovereignty and concentrate on economic developments instead.

I wouldn't want Turkey in the EU, primarily because of the fact that they treat the Kurds so badly. And they still haven't acknowledged the Armenian genocide. I think we should make them work for it.
