From both sides of the aisle......

Too many crappy incumbents are being returned yet voters cannot understand why change does not take place??????????

How dumb can we voters be? Let's take a look at ourselves!!!!!!!

Each time a crappy incumbent is returned does't than say to the politician that we appreciate his or her style of deception?

That’s the problem with having the duopoly calling the shots…

Incumbents often run unopposed or with very weak competition in the primary elections. Primary elections (generally) have poor voter turnout - mainly the party’s most loyal ‘base’ which includes more of the far left/right portion of the electorate.

After the incumbent wins their primary election, they (generally) win in the general election since the only viable alternative available to the electorate to oust them (at that point) is to vote for the candidate from the ‘wrong’ (often the minority) political party (in that district, county or state). This (keep incumbent candidates from the same party in power) is made even more likely when voters are offered the opportunity to vote ‘straight ticket’. I have found that most ‘frequent voters’ can’t name their current two US Senators and single US House representative, much less how they voted on a given piece of ‘major’ legislation.

People constantly vote against their best interests. This is a big aspect of that problem.

Ways to reorganize our system to help eliminate nasty campaigns and voter suppression.

"With Instant Run-off Voting, we would determine a true majority winner in one election and banish the spoiler concept. Voters would not have to calculate possible perverse consequences of voting for their favorite candidate. They could vote their hopes, not their fears."

Yes voters do not expect term limits to come from politicians after all they often lie. Therefore it is up to we the voters to set term limits by way of voting out incumbents at primary time then picking a well adjusted smart low spending politician then replace that politician soon thereafter.

Incumbents begin to think we work for them instead of them working for us........ this must stop. I know everybody's politician is the good guy HOWEVER I believe time has come that this simply cannot be true.
