Eight point drop in a month down to 34%.

Hope our president is listening to the american people telling him we don't like what he's doing. Otherwise, prepare for the rest of the wave arriving in 2020.
 
He may be the least competent chief executive this country has ever had.

The reality is, they are not thinking. That's the problem.

Jim Jones' supporters suffered from the same syndrome.
 
I wonder if Congress” approval rating had a swing in that period as well. I would imagine the shutdown is hurting everyone’s numbers. It would be interesting to know which party has the most incumbents running in 2020, because I have a feeling it will be a rough cycle for incumbents.

Knew a guy at my last board, always talked about how he was "hiring" Trump because he was going to destroy both the GOP and Democrats. He got 1 out of 2, but better than nothing!

Rasmussen has him consistently higher than Obama at this same time.

When compared to election results Rasmussen is far more accurate than AP.

Like most other mainstream polls Rasmussen usually errors to the negative on GOP and to the positive on Dems, meaning the approximate 45% they have Trump at is probably well over 50%.

You weren't here in 2016, but I was a full on Republican before and during that time. I was a Rubio girl in the NH primary. All in. I vowed repeatedly that I would never, ever support Trump, and one of the reasons was because I predicted, on here and in "real" life, that Trump was going to destroy the GOP.

I was right. If that was one of his goals, and I believe to this day that it was, he has succeeded admirably.

This is not an election poll. It is a job approval poll. When exactly do you people plan to learn the difference?

Ask Kellyanne Conway. She will explain it to you. Patiently, if you tell her you're a Trump supporter.

a. I did ask - reread the post to which you just replied
b. real-life supporters I ask happen to regurgitate fake news and conspiracy theories that seem aplenty nowadays. Only other response I had heard was "but economy is doing great" - without much understanding of why

I was supporting Kasich. Started out with Rand Paul, and now can't stand the fella. Though I left the party in 2012, I still gravitate towards Republicans because they agree more with what I support. Far more than any Ds.

What I grew up with knowing of the GOP is gone. There's still a little there, but unless they get Trump out, they're done for sure.

It’s difficult to ask a Trump supporter. The red MAGA hat is usually so tight it cuts the blood flow to the brain.
