Regulars know I am a Trump supporter. That said, after speaking with many active and retired military it is clear that a majority of active military oppose Trump - and likely will vote against him. The overwhelming majority of retired military will vote for him.

First, none like or support Biden - not one I talked to. For active military is singularly about opposing Trump. For retired military it is a combination of supporting Trump and despising the new ultra radical Democratic Party.

NO active military supports Biden and Harris wanting to involve in Syria and all think our warfare in the ME is wasted and pointless expense.

Why active military mostly opposes Trump? The top reasons: where the money came from for The Wall," disparaging comments about military personnel and "The Space Force."

The Wall: To obtain money from the military, there has been massive cuts in basic expenses to regular military such as closing foreign schools for their children telling them to go online like Americans have had to do, cheap air mattresses, no electricity even for military operations. Trump is a "big ticket" guy (costly stuff). The ordinary day to day stuff irrelevant - and that's what matters to the personnel.

The Army worked on the wall, meaning about half of those are Latino and many are non-American immigrants - so it is a bitter pill to order "built this wall to keep your relatives out."

They do believe he has bad mouthed military personnel.

Space Force: The USA already had a geo-space force - called the Air Force. Creating a new branch of the military for space may be good for the future, but is devastating to budgets now - where the Air Force already is losing to China - that hacks (usually successfully) the US military every day. China is the enemy - and China is winning on every front. A new branch requires new uniforms, new facilities, an entire new military management and officer's structure. Redundant exorbitantly expensive equipment and assets. The chaos of transition since shutting down for the transition is impossible.

One I spoke to used to be assigned to Air Force One - under both Obama and Trump. Obama was easy going and just treated Air Force One as transportation. Both Obama and Trump were very polite and respectfully - but Trump was indecisive, constantly changing his mind. Every time he flew he want things changed. As analogy only, he wanted the buttons on the left side, but the next time moved to the right, then to the center, then at the bottom, then back to the right - piles of work for nothing but indecision and inconsistency.

Of active military, 100% I spoke to (from bottom level to rather high up - Marines, Army and AF - both regular personnel and active reserve/contractors) believe China did create covid-19 and deliberately released it as a trial run. Given all we imported from China - including food and nearly everything in drug stores - China could slaughter Americans by a biological attack - while infected some of their excess population - which would insure no other country would back us up. Their opinion is that no country - other than possibly the UK maybe - would back up the USA in a war with China.

The reason no one says this was a deliberate test run and warning to the USA by China is because there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. When there is no solution why say anything?

China is kicking the USA's ass - in virology, technology, computers, hacking, and industrial power - while building up it's military RAPIDLY. However China believes they do not need to actually do anything because the USA and Western powers are rapidly destroying themselves. China is preparing if their is to be war on every level, including building huge bunkers all over China - over a million people capacity below Beijing as example.

Democracy now is no more than buying votes with endlessly more money that doesn't exist - borrowing it from China and other countries or otherwise writing ourselves IOUs by the trillions every year now. The economic and sociological collapse of the USA and Western powers is happening rapidly and irreversibly. The USA is becoming a paper tiger. This also means the USA will not longer be able to afford to be militarily technologically superior to China or afford to build new technology equipment and weapons systems. The financial and social collapse of the USA will defeat our military - no enemy needed.

Russia? They all see Russia as no threat - just chest pounding by Putin/Russian military to save face. They send up a fighter to dog one of our planes - so we send up a fighter and their fighter goes home. They send a bomber our way - so we send a bomber their way. Then both go home. They move some troops somewhere - so we do to - adding up to nothing. But this allows the Russian military to brag on the home front - nothing else. In terms of the super powers, it is 100% about China. The future belongs to China and there is little to nothing the USA can do about it. It will continue to worsen. Their opinions.

BOTTOMLINE: A majority of active military WILL be voting against Trump for specific personal reasons and relative to their specific roles in the military - despite despising Biden and opposing Democratic Party wars. A majority of retired military will be voting for Trump. This is a net lose to Trump compared to 2016.

Anyway, that is what I was hearing - and by enough of a sample to be confident of it. If a person can't do their task in the military because they don't even have electricity and then go home to sleep on the floor, while trying to figure how to do virtual education of their children - because the president's team took the money to have immigrants in the military building a wall to keep immigrants out - is going to vote against that president - despite despising the opponent.

Retired military, oppose Trump. Definitely voting for Biden. And I know people who are active duty or reservists who support Biden, have opposed Trump since even before those things you mentioned.

However, you left out at least one demographic, not retired, not active duty veterans. This group outnumber both the other two.

Additionally, retired military has a much higher average age, by default. Older people are more likely to vote Republican and to be Trump supporters.

Also, Russia and China were promoted to top threats, above terrorism a couple years ago by the military. The military does see Russia as a major threat.
