Other forums have options under Like, than just like. I believe this is the only forum I know where that is so limited.

This is what other forums have as options -

That is - Like, Winner, Good Idea, Love, Informative, That's a fact, Fake News, laughing at, surprised, sad and finally dislike.

Really?
Just click the smiley face in your tool bar and you have your choice of hundreds of emojis. You can just put them in the body of your reply.

Perhaps spending more time on forums that aren't so limited would be an option for you.

How about just use your words....

Geeze, THAT was hard, wasn't it??

I think this is overall a good idea, but the details could be different.

I understand why you want positive reactions only, to avoid creating mechanized tools of incivility. It also sucks to make tools of spammage.

However, sometimes you don't think to "Like" a post off the bat because it is really bad news at the content level. Or you wish you could say why you like a little more.

If you're able, how about letting people choose ONE of: Like, Good Idea, Surprised, Fact (Checks Out), Yikes! (Thanks For The Warning) ? Choosing any one of these could erase the previous tag.

In a few words. All of the above. Check the ones I liked

Would love to be able to dislike a post.

You certainly can dislike a post ... if you're willing to write it out. You can even use big cute images. But I understand why a forum seeking civil arguments between bitterly opposed factions doesn't see a big advantage to setting up a zero-effort mechanism to express unspecified disagreement - without even the potential to simultaneously acknowledge common ground.

I think I would hand out more dislikes than likes, given the opportunity.
This is why I am trying to find a monkey flinging poo gif.

This post reminds me that it would also be nice if we could double like something once a day or once a week.
