More Robertson - Professors are killers

I don't think Robertson is representative of the entire Conservative establishment any more than Cindy Sheehan or Joe Liebermann represents the entire Democratic party. I do think Robertson, along with, Falwell, Dobson, Promise Keepers, The Christian Coalition , The Moral Majority represent the Christian Right wing of the Republican Party. They yield a tremendous amount of power in the GOP right now.

You have to be kidding! Okay, I'll admit that I have no idea what the registered voter statistic is. But, with that being said, registered voters don't meean squat. The only people that you can count are people who actually go to the polls. Plenty of people just register with no reguard to which political party they choose. They just want a voters card. Look at the polls. Even with bush winning a sizable majority of EC votes in the last election, the actual votter numbers were pretty much even (granted bush had more THIS election). So... by your logic, if DEMS lead in the next elections this year then YOUR opinion won't mean anything and YOU will then be anti-american? Is that just about the jist of it?

You can't deny that without the well organised religious right, Bush wouldn't have been President....twice. They are a BIG part of the Republican party whether you like them to be or not.
 
And every whacko, nutjob that surfaces is automatically a spokesperson, leader and the future way of all liberals far and wide, as professed by the conservatives. Although the political leanings of said person is almost never proclaimed (even if it was, so what), conservatives dance up and down and around and point and gleefully announce "Look, I told you ALL you liberals are whacko, nutjobs". For my proof, look at what -whacko of the week- said. ;)

Yeah, but I think what was said earlier is feair enough. A substantial part of the GOP votes undoubtedly upon religeous values rather than political issues. I have friends who did just that and they are deffinitely not nutjobs, just misguided :)
