More Hope For A Negotiated Settlement To End The War In Ukraine

It is like that imo

The Cold War mentality is alive and kicking here at debate politics, much to its ,and the ones that cannot let go of it , detriment

That, absurd reductionism, and trolling for points from the crowd.

Then you see Russia's decline into a North Korea like satellite of China as inevitable?

I see Russia being a junior partner in the relationship with China today. I think the world is changing and a lot depends on whether Russians realize that Eurasia is the better option for them and closer ties with China. The western refusal to give up the Cold War mentality has pushed Russia and Russians in that direction. Whether they end up as a vassal type state I really couldn't say but they need to reevaluate their interests imo

I used to think your commentary was pretty good.
So no argument? typical forum bullshit. Go ahead, support allowing a terrorist to do what he wants and get his way, eventually a stand need to be made. he will just do this again to another country

😀

Yep, when you know they just prefer life looking at the cave wall ,all's you can do is have fun with them

What nuance you previously had (I have no idea what your position on Ukraine has been) has sunk to "Putin is Hitler!"

Blaming the west for Russian institutional paranoia and their own Cold War mentality.

Looks like the west controls everyone, eh?

That's where I disagree.

Okay, each to their own.

You certainly won't change them though and neither can you take them seriously so............ options are limited

They try to and that's what makes their bs all the more hypocritical

:ROFLMAO:

This is what I said:

Blaming the west for Russian institutional paranoia and their own Cold War mentality.

Russian paranoia (and their inferiority complex) traces back to the very origins of the Russian Tsardom.

Peter the Great tried to combat both by moving the capital to St. Petersburg and adopting western cloths, grooming and mannerisms.

Looks like the west controls everyone, eh?

In your eyes the West is to blame for practically everything.

And also, Russia must pay Ukraine to fix the damage they caused.
Starting with selling the seized assets of the Oligarchs. What are big-ass yachts and villas going for these days?

At the moment Ukraine is holding its own, and then some. It's advantages are in the medium term, when sanctions really bite hard and Ukraine gets improved weapons. In the long term its difficult to predict. Russia may run out of steam in less than a week, but it is also shipping in Syrians and other mercenaries, stripping is Ossian forces and bringing them in... perhaps as many as 100 per day (or more). In 20 or 30 days, things may look quite different.

Whatever chance Ukraine has it is imperative that Americans and western peoples keep pressure on their respective governments to do more as quickly as possible. They must kill as many Russian soldiers as possible, to gain an advantage before a deal is agreed to gives Ukraine negotiating leverage.

Your blood lust is disturbing imo

Unlike Putin, my "blood lust" is within the rules of war. I want to kill the Russian military and its leaders, not the hospitalized, doctors, grocery clerks, seniors, mothers, women and children.

Whatever Putin does does not change your obvious fetish for war porn.

He at least looks like he might be ready to talk about ending this war, as do the Ukrainians, but you are screaming for it to carry on and that's not normal
