We know the Trump team was already compromised by the Russians at this point, by carrying on negotiations with the Russians while lying about it to the American people. So they can hardly claim to be victims.

I suspect he's trying to insinuate that Repubs were as ****ed over as Dems (not true) by Russians. Which is absurd, if anything a group of ignorant 25-30 y/o "Anons" from Russia got roped into yet another instance of American exceptionalism narratives and self-imposed crises by America upon America (although I'm sure some Kremlin/GRU elements may have provided funding or some other clandestine assistance though).
