More 'bad' from Obamacare..

Well Obamacare is moving it up a notch. You will shortly not even be able to comp overtime to the customer. Meaning you are working on a system and the clock ticks to the end of their coverage time (via their contract)... right now, you keep working and just comp an hour or two that it takes to finish up so they are not hit with a bill, as it makes more sense to finish the job than to leave and come back. Now that comp time is seen as a 'bribe' just like coffee.

So now you MUST pack up and leave their system, which means what? It will still be non-usable in the morning as the work is not done. Patients will need to be re-scheduled, which means more lost revenue for the hosptial, which means raised rates to make up for the loss.

In the end, higher costs for patients, and more frustration with rescheduled appointments and availability of equipment for needed procedures.

Just pointing out yet another downward slide for medicine due to Obamacare.

if it becomes a real issue, they will modify the rule. My guess is they were trying to go after payola on drug pushers and churning unnecessary procedures on per use licensing or rentals.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. They are pretty strict on such things. One of my sites had the state in to do a certification in Mammography. The lady from state was asking about some local attraction since she had time the following day, one tech said she was going by there and could take her, the lead mammo tech reminded her of the 'rules' and no, no personal interactions. Pretty nuts how far things have gone.

So Obamacare causes an employer who offers health insurance to do a disservice to thier employees? Great idea!

"But Tolbert says most don’t realize that their employees might also be better off with such an arrangement. He explains: Many of those employees could be at an income level that would qualify them for government subsidized insurance on a state exchange, but only if they are not eligible for a qualified employer-sponsored plan. Not only is your employee ineligible for subsidized insurance; his spouse and children are not eligible if he has access to affordable health insurance through his employer.

To qualify for subsidized coverage individuals must meet two conditions: Their household income can be no greater than 400 percent of poverty line, and they cannot be eligible for a qualified plan through their employer or their spouse’s emplyer. According to Families USA, in 2013, 400 percent of poverty line for a 4-person household is $94,200.

Subsidies for the lowest income employees could render insurance essentially free. “The kicker,” Tobert says, “is that these lower-paid employees have friends and neighbors who are going to get these subsidies and will say, ‘I got free health insurance.’ Small business owners are going to have employees coming to them asking about that.”

“Employers generally offer health insurance because they think they’re doing their employees a favor. But starting in 2014 it’s going to be a disservice,” Tolbert says.

He? Who we talking about now? Romney? Are you referring to when he jumped in front of the cameras before the bodies were even cold to try to gain some political advantage from ther deaths?

you're probably right ... and yet it pales by comparison to what Romney did that night ... politicians rarely disgust me since I don't expect much from them, but that night Mitt almost made me vomit ..

If you want to visualize disgusting, think how those felt that were "lighting up" the enemy all the while believing help was imminent only to lose their life by doing so...

that's not hard to visualize ... what's hard to visualize are the GOP Congressmen, probably Dems as well, denying the funding requested for security ... bad all around, but what the hell ... let's simplify it: IT WAS OBAMA'S FAULT!
