Missouri report on militias, terrorists draws criticism
COLUMBIA, Mo. | A new document meant to help Missouri law enforcement agencies identify militia members or domestic terrorists has drawn criticism for some of the warning signs mentioned.
The Feb. 20 report called "The Modern Militia Movement" mentions such red flags as political bumper stickers for third-party candidates, such as U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, who ran for president last year; talk of conspiracy theories, such as the plan for a superhighway linking Canada to Mexico; and possession of subversive literature.

Thou shalt not have an opinion contrary to the state.

Also note they point to anti-abortion groups, but not environmental, unless I missed it,.
Because my freedom makes you go pee pee in your pants.
You didn't miss it because it wasn't in there. The focus was on state militias, not terrorism in general. It has a lot of good, accurate information. However...they did a very poor job in stating the fact that many people who are not associated with militias share some of the views stated. Like you, I personally share a few of those views listed.
Nice to know that someone in my state was kind enough to issue a report that now classifies my political views as red flags for domestic terrorism.
As a little background, I have had quite a bit of experience with sovereign citizen members. Wow. Not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. And while they do recognize the Sheriff as the highest authority, that doesn't stop them from going after the Sheriff or his deputies if they right them tickets for no valid registration or license. They will file lien against your property and seriously issue you summons to appear in their common law court. You don't show they will meet and try you in absentia. They'll render a judgment and then file a litany of paperwork in state court to seize your assets. It can be a serious pain in the ass.
:rofl @ some of their militia ideologies:
White Nationalists
Christian identity
Tax resistors- my favorite

I wonder... of the people that support the issuance of this sort of report, how many oppose the idea of applying the same sort of thing to, say, blacks? My next point is I wonder how many officers could be lumped into this group. Seems they did a piss poor job here.

It's when they form a core based around extreme religion, racist, or anti-government tenets that I say "do not want."
Sorry -- I changed the post to better reflect what I meant to ask. What policy are you talking about?
A whole hell of a lot of officers fall into some of those views and yes, the presentation sucked.

 question was semi rhetorical, but I agree with what you say here an about the whole militia thing in general.
I think many of us fall into some of those views....
Hell I read the "turner diaries" because of its current events reletivity... I must be real popular on "the list" (oh wait, I think thinking there is a list is another warning sign!)
Those really are some of the ideologies that are prevalent in many militias.
Personally I think the idea of the militia is quite cool and I have no problem with it in principle. It's when they form a core based around extreme religion, racist, or anti-government tenets that I say "do not want."
The militia of the United States.Show me a militia that is NOT based around a fringe ideology
