Such a lack of scientific knowledge they had that they could make structures like the Great Pyramid, which conclusively proves that the ancients knew that the earth was round, how to square a circle, the mean elevation of earth's landmass, and their posessing intimint knowledge of the movement of the stars and earth's precession; to say nothing for their quarrying, building and shipping knowledge......there is also evidence for an ancient global economy....but that's another thread.
I contend that we do not yet know as much as the ancients, that we only see ourselves as superior to them out of arrogance, and that they claimed the existence of God because their superior science could show Him.
