Gee, wonder what has changed with DJT's views about his unloyal former VP? Jack Smit's subpoena has apparently sweetened DJT on Mike Pence.





On Truth Social, Trump also criticized the special counsel and appeared to defend former Vice President Pence.

"Will Trump Hating Prosecutor Jack Smith be investigating the FACT that they SPIED on my campaign, even as I was in the Oval Office, they Stuffed the Ballot Boxes (per 2000 Mules), used Covid to cheat, that the FBI pushed Twitter & Facebook around, causing massive voter disruption, and so much more?" Trump wrote.

"That's really what he should be looking at, not asking a very decent Mike Pence why he didn't send the votes back to State Legislatures for scrutinization, which he could have done. Get the RIGGERS!" he added.
 

I rest contented, knowing after Pence there's only one person higher to go - the sooner the better!
 
If his own private investigation didn't turn up any evidence for these allegations, I'm not sure why a special prosecutor not tasked with that job would do better. Some of what Trump talks about here was already investigated by another special counsel.
 
Pence publicly supported Trump all through their four year term. Now he begins pivoting from Truimp when it is politically advantageous for him to do so?

Truth be known, I doubt at his core he is a believer. Sociopaths often use religion as a way of controlling and manipulating others.

VP Pence doesn't know how to behave anything like a mob boss and what you have termed as opportunism fits Pence well. Who knew that such a weak spine now has a chance to step up and tell Jack Smith where at least one body is buried and by buried, I mean a serious dot connected in DJT's J6 overthrow attempt. That is if Pence can get DJT's Fox Digital and his Unhinged Social voices out of his head.

If not for anything else when Smith first issued Pence a subpoena, a sense of quickly reaching an end to this investigation was detected but now that ugly word 'privilege' comes to play that usually only means more delays. The only question that I have is when keeping the scope narrow to all things J6, how soon are we looking to setting into motion a court case?

I was thinking that if Pence made his intentions clear 2 days earlier, he might have saved the country from a near insurrection.

Now, I suspect, it would have caused Trump to attack the Capital more vigorously.

Stop with the insurrection hoax. There was never a chance of anything more than a riot, like what we saw in the streets all over american in the summer of 2020. There was no chance the government was going to be overthrown. IF you really believe that crap you are a fool. How were a few hundred rioters with almost no weapons going to overthrow a government with the most deadly and powerful military in the modern world? They were not going to. They had a riot, they broke into the capital building and how many times has that happened in American history.

It doesn't matter what their objective chances of success were. They thought they were blocking the appointment of Biden/Harris on the only calendar day it could be done, and they probably also thought that simply preventing Biden taking over the job meant that Trump would keep it.

Their intentions are the only thing that matter. It was an attempted insurrection, simply because of the day it was held on. You're admission that they were dumb-asses does not change that.
 

Your leader tried to overturn fair and free elections. But that didn't work. So he lied about election fraud, day after day, for over a month, which culminated with his speech on Jan 6, and led to a failed insurrection attempt hours later. His followers - your fellow Trump voters and election-fraud believers - were hellbent on taking over the Capitol and killing politicians that day, anything to keep their beloved traitor in power. And yes they had weapons.

This all happened because of Trump's lies. But it wasn't only Trump who spread those lies. Many other Republicans are responsible for what happened on Jan 6. And people like you, who downplay the actual facts, lie and spin, spread misinformation, and make excuses for the traitors, are just as responsible.
 
By the way, 3 U.S. Code § 15 ("Counting electoral votes in Congress") specifies the day and time that the counting of electoral college votes shall begin (1 pm on 6th Jan) but does not require that the process be complete by any particular day or time. In 2021 the process actually continued past midnight (ie into 7th Jan) without any problem.

If the insurrectionists had packed Congress with live bodies, and the President had not ordered they be removed (dead or alive) there's no reason Congress shouldn't convene in some other building to complete the counting of electors. They have a whole two weeks before Inauguration Day.

If being a dumb-ass was a legal defense, there would hardly be anyone in prison.

Every living President/Vice President/etc. as far back as GWB, apparently, may have mishandled documents. The National Archives should be reaching out all the way down the line if they want to do this right.
 

I suspect this will be a slow process. But Pence being a target shows we are bear the end in terms of following the path of individuals' hierarchy.

I'm not saying they'll get him (Trump). But in terms of the individuals involved, the investigation is nearing its end.
