Dozens of Microsoft employees occupied the company’s east campus in Redmond, Washington to protest against what they say is the use of its software by the Israeli military to carry out operations in Gaza and enable the surveillance of Palestinians.
Less than a week after the company said it was launching an independent investigation into the use of its Azure software, current and former staff occupied a space they declared the “Free Zone”, holding placards that read “Join The Worker Intifada – No Labor for Genocide” and “Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza”.
Nor should they.As a private corporation Microsoft isn't bound by the 1st Amendment and won't likely tolerate this disruption to their operations.
Agree.Nor should they.
It proves the point for the thousandth time that money is more important than genocide.Nor should they.
It proves that you think Israel is committing genocide and that others do not.It proves the point for the thousandth time that money is more important than genocide.
Brave words when it's not your dollar.Businesses and their leaders are the only ones left who can make a difference. They won't do it if it costs them one dollar.
I don't need to think anything. Just watching the current news is all I need. Never said no one else is doing it. This thread is about Israel. It proves that you think Israel is committing genocide and that others do not.

I am not in a position to make a difference like Microsoft is. Or many other multi billion dollar corporations. They need to put their money where their mouth is. Because we know damn well the politicians are useless.
I understand. Doesn't make it right.Corporate CEOs are also politicians, elected by their boards and shareholders.
Although they may have the moral principles to know right from wrong their first obligation is to the shareholders. It is in fact a fiduciary obligation.
If they want to keep their cosy corner office they won't say or do anything that will erode revenue.
Heartfelt support for the employees. We need the entire nation to follow suitKudos to these employees for taking a strong position but this action will probably get them all fired.

I agree, those opinions are not the product of thought.I don't need to think anything. Just watching the current news is all I need. Never said no one else is doing it. This thread is about Israel.
Actually, you're asking Microsoft to put their money where your mouth is, and I'll be surprised if they do that.I am not in a position to make a difference like Microsoft is. Or many other multi billion dollar corporations. They need to put their money where their mouth is. Because we know damn well the politicians are useless.

MAGAs are never serious. Not amusing whatsoever. You can make a difference!
First, you need to make absolutely sure certain you aren’t using any Microsoft products or their derivatives. If you are, destroy them immediately. This will give you the credibility you’ll need to organize a resistance movement. Make a sacrifice. Throw your XBox away, and make a video of it to post on Look At Me, or whatever it’s called. Then you’ll have to bona fides to gather a following. You’ll likely garner international support from groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis - all the H’s - right from the start. A word of caution: I understand those guys like their XBoxes. They may not have refrigeration or underwear, but they all have XBoxes. That might be a hard sell.
You are serious? Could have fooled me.MAGAs are never serious. Not amusing whatsoever.
Something STINKS about this story. It's not adding up to me.
Azure is basically a fancy cloud "disk drive". They were storing information. The IDF used it to store information they got from mass surveillance. But as far as I understand, Microsoft didn't do the surveillance, they didn't build tools for surveillance per se - they just offered storage.
Then Microsoft announced - last week - that they were investigating the IDF use of the service.
Now given that, in an environment where workers are being fired by their masters for so much as "liking" Palestinians, I'm supposed to believe that a protest group of Microsoft workers on the Microsoft campus made a stink about them not being good enough at censoring the Israeli military? In an environment where software workers are getting laid off in droves as AI replaces them all?
No, I think that the showy protest, complete with TENTS to remind people of Ivy League universities, is an obvious ploy meant to back up a future move by the Trump administration to prohibit Microsoft from refusing service to the IDF, and/or revoke every contract they have with the government first and demand a huge cash settlement and veto power over who they hire before promulgating such a policy.
Sorry guys - you're being had.
They will just re-release Millenium as the new OSBrings another meaning to Blue Screen of Death.
No. I'm saying that I would hazard a guess that there were about five kinds of people at that demonstration: Israeli agents, Israeli infiltrators, Israeli collaborators, Israeli dupes, and Israeli patsies. Probably heavy on the dupes. Is that what you're saying?
Very dumb employees. I hope they do get fired.Kudos to these employees for taking a strong position but this action will probably get them all fired.

Nobody thought Trump would destroy Columbia and Harvard. But Harvard had a famous law school. By contrast, Microsoft has ... competitors like Oracle and Palantir with deeper ties to the Trump administration than Donald Trump himself. So let's add some economically motivated people to the mix also.
Ah. So you just hate the Jews. Got it.No. I'm saying that I would hazard a guess that there were about five kinds of people at that demonstration: Israeli agents, Israeli infiltrators, Israeli collaborators, Israeli dupes, and Israeli patsies. Probably heavy on the dupes.

To the contrary, Israel is only a means to an end with both Columbia and Microsoft. The college and the company are valuable assets, and assets are worth money. But backers of the IDF only care about their own little conflict, and so I doubt they care if they are being used in a higher purpose.Ah. So you just hate the Jews. Got it.
lol. You would probably be happier in the CT section. To the contrary, Israel is only a means to an end with both Columbia and Microsoft.
