President Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen is denying the latest report from McClatchy News Service that he traveled to the Prague in summer 2016 to collude with Russians on the U.S. presidential election.

Democratic-financed British ex-spy Christopher Steele wrote in his anti-Trump dossier that Cohen secretly went to the Czech capital and met with Vladimir Putin aides to arrange cash payments to Russian hackers.
=======================================================
The supposed meeting between Cohen & a Putin representative concerning cash payments to the Russians may not have been in Prague itself but nearby. So technically he may not have traveled to Prague, just a hotel or guest house in the Prague area where his cell phone ID was picked up & automatically recorded.

News service McClatchy also reported that Russians talked about his trip in intercepted communications.

More lying Christopher Steele crap keeps rising to the surface of the leftist democrat swamp.

Whether you like it or not, most of the elements in the Steele dossier have been proven correct. Cohen in/near Prague is the cherry on the top of the muffin.

Of course Mueller knows everything, he will basically let anyone who gives him dirt truth or lie who gives a **** on the one he is after a walk.

All except for the only one he is after, the one he was hired to scalp.

He has most certainly done a poor job.

This is taking way too long.

More Bad Work

The Hillary-Benghazi hearings run by the Repubs lasted 2 years & came up with nothing. Nada. Zip. Feeling better? How many guilty pleas, indictments & cooperating witnesses has Mueller produced?

This is confirmation, that Steele's information was good, contrary to your hopes and fears.

Mueller has produced almost nothing and he is AT LEAST 300% overdue with a ruling on the main charge.

This is abuse of the nation for political gain.

Either that or shear incompetence again.

THE FAILED INTELLIGENTSIA!

Do you have any investigation that lasted a shorter amount of Time?

Do you have any investigation that lasted a shorter amount of Time?

I dont care...... and keep in mind that I say that the West is dying, I say that we committed the suicide of not facing reality, so giving me "Oh But Sir, This is the quality of the work we have been doing recently so you should be acclimated to the crap work we are doing now" gets you no place with me.

If you don’t care, why are you engaging in criticism of something you should not be interested in?

For someone who repeatedly asserts that western civilization is hurtling towards ruin, you don’t seem to put much effort into making your case for why.

You going "ALL ABOUT HAWKEYE" is a refusal to engage on the matter at hand.

If you want my attention then you need to contribute.

I dont have that many good years left.

I have no time to waste.

Yeah, this matter is one that's been "out there" for a long time and it's curiously byzantine.
  • The matter itself clearly has a counterintelligence component, and having that element, it's not likely anyone in the US gov't will soon and openly corroborate the details of McClatchy's reporting.
    • Cell signal puts Cohen outside Prague around time of purported Russian meeting
      • Late summer 2016 --> Michael Cohen's cell phone sent signals ricocheting off Prague cell towers in the Prague, thus leaving an electronic record indicating Cohen was there at the time.
      • Late August/early September --> An Eastern European (EE) intelligence agency electronically picked up a conversation among Russians wherein one conversant remarked that Cohen was in Prague.
      • The foreign electronic intelligence intercepts were shared with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
    • Was that intercept made in the Czech Republic? In Russia? In some other country? Maybe even in the US? We don't know and aren't likely to find out; we only know the organization that overheard the call is an EE one that presumably shares information with the US, or at least with Mueller.
  • Assuming Cohen went to Prague, there'd be several travel records of his having done, so if he went to Prague, the gov't knows he went and when. That doesn't mean the gov't is (or ever will be) ready to disclose that information.
    • Plane ticket
    • Passport scans
    • Cohen's passport
    • Immigration/Customs forms
    • Video his having gotten on a flight to Prague and of his departing the plane in Prague.
Curiously too, Cohen's most denial remarks upon the weather in Prague's springtime, yet the phone call was intercepted in the late summer. Ignoratio elenchi.
  • Back when Cohen was lying on Trump's behalf, he denied having gone to Prague in late summer 2016. Given the intelligence aspect of this part of the Russia meddling component of Mueller's investigation and Cohen's cooperation with Mueller/the gov't, there's nothing to be gained (by the prosecution or intel organizations/undertakings) by his now saying he was there, regardless of whether he was or wasn't.

Additionally, unless I'm forgetting someone (I haven't checked) all the cooperating witnesses of whom we know and that are working specifically with Mueller are the one's who are party to something that comes far closer to counterintelligence investigative matters than to non-counterintel investigative matters.
  • Michael Cohen --> SDNY, not Mueller, prosecuted His "gangstery" crimes.
  • Manafort --> His money laundering with Russians/Ukraines was handled by Mueller's team.
  • Weisselberg --> The CFO of Trump Org., the man who has whatever "skeletons" Cohen doesn't, along with corroborating evidence of ones skeletons Cohen knows of as goes Trump's dealing with Russians and other foreign state actors, has immunity and, AFAWK, nothing's come from SDNY that relied on his input, and it's absurd to think his input was limited to prosecuting M. Cohen given all the documentary evidence collected from Cohen.
  • Pecker --> I can't say what information Pecker may have, but if I had to guess, I'd say the nature/point of his input is:
    • To identify behaviors/events about which Trump, or others around him, may be compromised/-able by foreign states that also know of the behavior/event;
    • To identify specific actus rei and mens reae Trump and/or his cohorts committed/possessed over a period of time and/or in the undertaking of a series of events that collectively constitute a criminally culpable act.
Whatever it be Pecker has contributed, he too has immunity, which one doesn't get unless/until one has demonstrated that one has information that is very material to a prosecutor's case. Put another way, prosecutors don't give immunity to folks whose input will show a defendant to be not-guilty. They don't because if that's the nature of one's input, the prosecutors simply wouldn't file an indictment. Nobody needs immunity against charges prosecutors don't levy.
In conclusion, while the "Cohen-Prague" tidbit is titillating, for the moment, at least, there's too much about it that, for legit reasons, is too vague and unknown to know just what import to put on Cohen's having been in Prague, even if one predicates one's analysis on his indeed having been there.

Rulings are not his job.

How would you know. whether any point has been verified or not? Comey even admitted he never verified the claims before the document was used to dupe the FISA court into spying on Carter Page and Trump who never did anything to justify being spied upon.

This is confirmation, that Steele's information was good, contrary to your hopes and fears.

Not confirmation that the Steele document is filled with truth but confirmation that some people will believe just about any sort of lying crap they are told if they are told the lies enough times.

Ah! He wasn't in Prague. He was near Prague. :lamo

Steele's information was so good, that refused to testify under oath that it was all true.

They throw this out there all the time! "The dossier has been verified", yet they never can list-with citations-EXACTLY which allegations, point by point, have been verified and validated.

It's just a hollow talking point.

Steele's information was so good, that refused to testify under oath that it was all true.

Steel also estimated that the dossier was 70%-90% true. So, 30% could be false. Or 10% could be false.

Think about this for a moment! Would you hand over a paper to your boss, or a professor, and tell them "Meh, it's about 70% correct."?

Um, wut?

Would you expect to get paid for such shoddy work? Expect credit for it?

Of course not. But the dossier has become the keystone to the Trump haters' case that he colluded with Russia.

Except Cohen denies being in the Chez republic EVER. Maybe he flew over Prague and forgot to turn his cell phone off.

Its worse than that in a deposition he said it was raw data and only maybe 50/50 true.

So you guys are unaware of the parts of the dossier that turned out to be right. That's odd, I figured Fox news and the conservative blogosphere would be all over that. Anyhoo, here's some good stuff

What’s more, the Steele dossier itself has been deemed credible at the highest levels of the US intelligence community, to the point where both Presidents Obama and Trump were briefed on it before its existence was made public. Independent intelligence experts have pointed out that many of its claims — though not the pee tape — have been confirmed by subsequent investigations.

“Steele and his company appear serious and credible,” John Sipher, a 30-year veteran of the CIA, wrote at Slate in September. “Well before any public knowledge of these events, the [Steele dossier] identified multiple elements of the Russian operation including a cyber campaign, leaked documents related to Hillary Clinton, and meetings with Paul Manafort and other Trump affiliates to reportedly discuss the receipt of stolen documents.”

oh and before you post "wah wah Vox", you need to explain why the GOP platform on Ukraine was changed as predicted

"Parts of the dossier have been stood up and in places it looks prophetic. One Steele memo says the Kremlin was behind the hacking of DNC emails, claiming these were released via WikiLeaks for reasons of “plausible deniability”. In return, Trump agreed to “sideline Russian intervention in Ukraine” as a campaign issue and to raise “US/Nato defence commitments in the Baltics and eastern Europe” to deflect attention.

This is precisely what happened at the Republican National Convention last July, when language on the US’s commitment to Ukraine was mysteriously softened. Meanwhile, in a series of tweets, Trump questioned whether US allies were paying enough into Nato coffers.

Did the judges on the FISA court sort through the store-bought democrat spy document to determine what was fact and what was fiction? No. Why not? Because the leftist Obamanites submitting the document did not tell the judges they never verified anything in particular in the document. If this whole mess was not a matter of public record I admit I would have a very hard time believing such corrupt crap was being carried out by our government law enforcement officers.
