Mexico May Take Fence Dispute to U.N.

PARIS -- Mexico's foreign secretary said Monday the country may take a dispute over U.S. plans to build a fence on the Mexican border to the United Nations.

Luis Ernesto Derbez told reporters in Paris, his first stop on a European tour, that a legal investigation was under way to determine whether Mexico has a case.

I don't see what exactly they're disputing. Just because they don't like it, doesn't mean we aren't allowed to build it.

But the fence is a bad idea. I'm with Mexico on that one.

I agree with the fact that it is a bad idea to build a fence, but on the other end Mexico has absolutley no say in this matter. They should start building up their economy so that we don't have such a need for one (in the minds of certain people).

The fence is a good idea in my opinion. But I say let Mexico take it to the UN. They'll just be laughed at anywho. Any gov't who says that they don't want their neighbor to build a fence because it will keep their own citizens from crossing the border illegally is corrupt to the bone.

The fence idea is a bad idea IMO, but if the fence is built on American Soil, tell Mexico to F**K OFF !

They have no saying as to what we do on our side of the border.

We shouldn't care what Mexico or the UN thinks.As a matter of fact there should middle fingers painted on the mexican side of the border fence to show what real Americans think of Mexico's opposition to our fence.

Big middle fingers, made out of big guns, to shoot anyone who is crossing with either guns or drugs, not to mention those occasional Mexican army regulars who like to escort drug runners across the border. Definitely 2 in the head for them.

I agree.There should be guards on the border with orders shoot to kill and I think this is the tool they should use.
