What did Trump do during his last term, except play golf, that you would consider a constructive achievement? On theother hand here's what the Biden administration actually did achieve...and outperformed Trump by any metric you care to mention.

At this point, I am beginni9ng to wonder if you are just trolling by coming back with the SAME link you posted before that Biden DID continue to build the wall.

You posted that link before and forgot? I thoroughly rebutted it by telling you that there is NO evidence whatsoever that Biden built even 20additional FEET of wall. I told you that the story and photo was a photo op, and he never had any intention of building any more wall and he said he would only to placate people from his own party imploring him to do something about the invasion.

And people like you, even from other countries like yourself, ate the story up lisle Biden eating ice cream in a nursing home, not bothering to check.

You can invent whatever excuses your imagination can conjure up, but you'll still be wrong. You're always wrong; your posting history is clear evidence. You and I are done. You also posted that link before as well. With all the fanfare, he did NOT build any additional wall. This repeated posting that he claimed he WOULD build more even though he did not is far too outlandish for me to continue with.

I live here in the United States, snakestretcher and have been to the border. I live in a state bordering it. You live in Europe. Like so many other topics here, you don't know what you're talking about.

NO ADDITIONAL WALL WAS BUILT BY BIDEN.

In 2020, Biden opposed the wall and asserted: “A wall is not a serious deterrent for sophisticated criminal organizations that employ border tunnels, semi-submersible vessels, and aerial technology to overcome physical barriers at the border — or even for individuals with a reciprocating saw.” And he promised that "not another foot of wall would be constructed" under his watch—the president, sitting in the Oval Office on Thursday, responded with a flat: "No.""

None the less, Congress approved an additional funding of $1.375 billion “for the construction of [a] barrier system along the southwest border” in both the appropriations bills for FY 2020 and for FY 2021.

On the day he took office, 1/20/2021 Biden proclaimed the shelving of Southwest border barrier construction (including walls) even though the funds had been appropriated for that project. On January 27, construction stopped and vast amounts of material (eg thousands of wall panels) were left in the desert.

In March of 2021 Republican senators asked the GAO to render an opinion on the legality of Biden's order to halt spending for construction, it being the same as an "impoundment of funds" in violation of the Impoundment Control Act (ICA).

Three months later the GAO rescued Biden saying it was not a violation of the ICA because the DHS had not yet complied with the environmental requisites so while appropriated they were not technically obligated, using the debatable reasoning that it was just being "delayed" not stopped.

The next two years saw miles of fencing panels stacked seven feet high, electrical boxes, etc. littering the desert in vast quantities... as Biden intended.

Then in July 2022 administration announced it would resume — on a very limited basis — border infrastructure projects to plug “gaps” in the unfinished wall in a small and specific area, Yuma, Ariz. ... one motivation being to assist the 2022 reelection of Arizonia Senator Mark Kelley. (It is unclear how much, if any, of the gaps were plugged.).

But the border became a huge a political liability in the fall of 2023, The administration was sued by Texas, and in August of 2023 Biden lost in Federal Court - the ruling mandating that Biden's failure to spend the appropriated funds was illegal, contrary to Biden's GAO inventive reasoning.

Rather than appeal, Biden gave in and waived 26 different federal laws to plug similar gaps along the border in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley - a power he always had since 2020 but had refused to use. This would, apparently, consist of a miniscule 20 miles of added walls and/or barriers. (It is also unclear if, or how much, of that 20 miles were plugged).

Getting blowback from his own party, the Biden administration pleaded that that the money for the wall had been appropriated in 2019 before he took office, and its appropriation required the funding to be used and construction completed in 2023. Biden said he attempted to get the funding redirected, but Congress refused. In short, he tried to distance himself from the GAO opinion and his failure to appeal the August ruling.

"The money was appropriated for the border wall," Biden said. "I can't stop that." ( Yet he had stopped that for most of his administration).

However, because Congress could see he had no intention to complete the wall or to do more than fill gaps the 2024 Defense Appropriation Act required Biden to submit a plan of disposal of surplus, its purpose being to force the administration to restart the wall project in whole or if he refused to do so at least provide material to Texas.

After Texas and California got what they wanted, 40 percent was still left and 252 sq. feet of wall was sold for as little as 5 dollar each.

There are indisputable nuggets in the chronology:

1. Biden was against most or all of the wall in his Presidency. He successfully blocked its continuation for most of that time period, and intentionally made negligible progress toward the 500 plus mile goal.

2. Biden didn't sell off material and give-away prices to block wall construction, he first blocked the wall construction and then circumvented the 2024 intent to force him to build the wall, subsequently selling off material he knew he wouldn't want after his mostly successful roadblock.

3. The squabble over the characterizations of his actions are irrelevant. He did not "continue" the project for most or all of his Presidency. And when he claimed he was going to plug some small gaps, it was under the duress of elections, public preesure, and court orders.

PS - I am unable to find any news items on what, if any, construction actually occurred in the Yuma "gaps" and the Rio Grande Valley "gaps". There are lots of stories on what he claimed he would do, almost nothing on what he actually did, afterwords if anything.
