'Rah, Gentlemen. None of you were perfect, and none of you would have chosen to be honored on this day given the option. But we still here owe it to you to remember; you are part of a legacy, and because that legacy goes on, you go on. Semper Fidelis.

My deep respect to all US military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice.

My thanks to all who have served and serve today.

Cherokee/Justin (USMC). Gone but never forgotten.

I beg forgiveness for coming late.

If you are able,
save them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.

And in that time
when men decide and feel safe
to call the war insane,
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind.

I'll see you soon, brothers.
