Megyn Kelly and NBC have officially parted ways, three months after she stopped appearing on the network after making a widely criticized comment about blackface. The TV host reportedly received $30 million as part of her exit.

In a statement released by NBC on Saturday, the network said that it had resolved its differences with Kelly and that she was no longer an employee.

I wonder if she's also filed for unemployment. Got to put bread on the table.

While Kelly might not have been the best choice for a "happy talk" news show, it doesn't look like what replaced her show is any better.

Probably, even if she'd never made the blackface comment, someone at NBC would've been gunning for her, and would have picked on something else.

if i had thirty million dollars, i'm reasonably sure that i could figure out a way to never have to work again.

There are of course the lawyers and the taxes to pay out of the 30....

i bet i could still make it work. let's say that i lose half and it's fifteen million, which is sort of a worst case scenario.

step one : pay off the house
step two : kid's college savings
step three : pay off any debt
step four : low risk investments
step five : retire, and enjoy my paid off house, family time, and writing.

sounds good to me.

Did she get a payout from Fox when she left as well? (Or was that just the end of her contract?)
