In 1985, when the Achille Lauro was hijacked, then President Reagan stepped in and gave a stern warning to all nations in the Middle East, ordering them to deny safe harbor to the PLO terrorists who controlled the ship. The nations complied. Including Israel. Only after negotiations was the liner allowed to dock, and only after arrangements were made for the terrorists to board an airliner that was planned to be intercepted by U.S. fighters. Love him or hate him, Reagan commanded respect from the international community. He stood at the Berlin Wall and mocked Gorbachev. Hell...later on, he went to Moscow and their people treated him like a celebrity.

Fast forward to today. 0bama demands Snowden be handed over by Vladimir Putin's Russia. The answer? "Nyet." 0bama tells al-Assad in Syria to stop attacking the rebels. His answer? "Laa." Over in Afghanistan, Karzai has shown him no respect. In Iraq, Nuri al-Maliki is sick of 0bama. Israel's Netanyahu openly disses him. He goes to Germany to make speeches, and is greeted to weak reception. It seems that 0bama's only "friends" are the United States' enemies right now.

How does it feel to have such a limp-wristed "leader" of the free world? Putin pretty much said "F.U." to him this week, and 0bama just bent over and took it (and we all know how he likes to bend to other world leaders). You liberals reap what you sow.

these are utterly horrible historic comparisons.

Haha.

If you think Obama is a big liar and a horrible president, Reagan isn't exactly the guy you want to draw comparisons from/to.

Though obama deserves some huge criticism over things, and we should be working to strip the president and executive branches of the overreaching powers given to them by congress, I have to say your point is a terrible distraction and avoids any real criticism. Snowden is not a person hijacking and taking hostages. He is a guy who told americans their government was spying on them. next time you want to attack Obama please use one of the many real reasons he has provided to us. There is no need to make up this crap.

I'm not sure what you expect.

Whether or not a world leader receives respect is based on the politics, not the person. The politics goes well beyond Obama.

I bet Reagan really had to bend Israel's elbow in order to get them to go against the PLO
