I can't figure out how it would be misused.
Marijuana makes people feel good.
How do you screw that up?
use it as a suppository?
Please don't attribute capitalism with foolishness.
That is the basis of my argument. Government shouldn't meddle with it.
Incorrect (assuming you are talking about Americans). By Gallup's last poll, about 36% of the population supports legalization. It is an upward trend though; we'll probably see it happen within the next 20-40 years.
The first poll, conducted last week by Rasmussen Reports, has 40 percent of Americans in support of legalizing the drug and 46 percent opposed. The second, conducted in January by CBS News, has 41 percent in favor of legalization and 52 percent against. And a third poll, conducted by Zogby on behalf of the marijuana-rights advocacy group NORML, has 44 percent of Americans in support of legalized pot and 52 percent opposed.
That all three polls show support for legalization passing through the 40 percent barrier may be significant. I compiled a database of every past poll I could find on this subject, including a series of Gallup polls and results from the General Social Survey, and could never before find more than 36 percent of the population (Gallup in October, 2005) stating a position in favor of legalization
I think the more important question is whether or not the State has any legitimate reason to make medical decisions for its citizens, or to delegate those medical decisions to third parties. I am perfectly qualified to decide which drugs I require, including having the wisdom to know when to consult a doctor for advice.
Many medical drugs are misused. This does not mean that they should not exist.
Glaucoma is one the things that are helped by Pot..
Pain drugs are used and misused everyday. They are not removed from the market. I wonder why?
Could it be that people don't like pain?
If the state is paying for your "medical treatment" wouldn't that be a legitimate reason for the state to say no you can not have "medical" marijuana?
I think most people who use marijuana have nothing wrong with them and use it just to get high, however I bet the opposite is true about people who use most pain drug drugs.
Is this supposed to be an argument against medical use of marijuana?
Sometimes, it just is what it is Harry. It's ALL about da money. All'z ya gotta do is step outside the ring and do the math.
What? And lose out on all that money set aside to fight this "evil weed?"
There is BIG money in keeping pot illegal. For both sides.
Well, I have a hard time seperating the two. However, I can see how it can be subdivided, or put in a different folder if you will, if it makes you feel any better.
But at the end of the day it's all about the mo' money. And that's capitolism sir. Albeit, governmental.
What? You KNOW the professional politican has got to make his bank too. That's capitolism sir. But if you want, we could call it something else, I suppose. But it is what it is. Ta-may-to/Tuh-mah-toe.
Even the most simpleton on man can figure out that this problem can be solved simply by allowing users to grow their own, perhaps 5-6 plants at a time for personal use. That would dissolve the illegal, lucrative market in one fell-swoop. But it would also eliminate a LOT of government/judicial jobs.
Tell me again how this ain't about capitolism.
Government interference is akin to socialism really.
That is a bastard form of capitalism.
Is it possible in this Tower of Babble we call the internet that both you and I are trying to say the same thing but just saying it two different ways? I totally understand where you are coming from. And it ain't too far from where I'm coming from too.
I think one bastard form of capitolism is certainly federal government interference upon the individual's liberties and state's rights. It has sprung countless cottage industry's that produce not, creating jobs out of nothing at all. Pet Rock politics.
In fact, I wouldn't mind being a civil service worker myself.
Why don't ya ask Rush Limbaugh?
:rofl there are people, I am told, sufficiently brainless enough to do this :rofluse it as a suppository?
I received my prescription which allowed me to obtain a medical id card for attention deficit disorder.
Much rather go to Amsterdam though.
