I say again, if they had not all been wearing the same red hats that are symbols of bigotry and intolerance, the public reaction likely would have been quite different. I wouldn't call the media's cover of the Covington students worse than Kavanaugh. Both were despicable. And the reason for it is the MSM is an arm of the Democratic party. Correction: Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said that Native American activist Nathan Phillips fought in the Vietnam War. Phillips served in the U.S. Marines from 1972 to 1976 but was never deployed to Vietnam.

So it looks like he may have served in the Marines but apparently never went to Vietnam.

He is on record telling CNN "I'm a Vietnam Veteran" (there's no squirming around that one. In other statements he's been weasely with his words saying 'vietnam times', etc., but he is on record lying and claiming he is a Vietnam veteran at least once - and the media has been running with that and blaring it to the heavens the last several days):

I see a ton of the boys in these videos participating with Phillips as though they were enjoying the performance. And Phillips wasn't alone, there was another guy behind him playing the drum, so frankly you don't have ****. You're making something out of nothing to justify what happened to these boys, whether out of self-loathing or malice toward anyone that doesn't agree with you; I don't know which. I have held firm to all of my stated (and posted) ideals when participating in this Forum; and pre-Trump I had good relations with many Forum members who now deride me as "racist, lying, trolling, etc."

The point being, people who claim to be "tolerant, understanding, open-minded, accepting," have been proving themselves anything but as they display all the characteristics of being the type of "brainwashed cult-members" terminology that they often use to deride their opponents with.

He claimed he was a Vietnam veteran. He lied. He never served in Vietnam, and in fact joined the Marines after the last marine combat troops pulled out.

The Covington kids weren't there to protest. They were in Washington, DC, attending the school annual trip for the March for Life rally, where the incident occurred. They were actually at a rally point waiting to board the buses to return to Kentucky.
