The House Committee on Ethics is still investigating Rep. Mark Meadows’ (R-NC) handling of sexual harassment complaints against his former chief of staff, numerous sources have confirmed to The Daily Beast. And though the primary source of interest has been why Meadows, the Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, continued to pay his former top aide Kenny West long after complaints were made about West’s behavior and even following West’s termination, another wrinkle has recently emerged. A former Meadows aide has testified to the committee that top staff and, perhaps, even Meadows himself were made aware of West’s behavior far earlier than has been publicly reported. A previous report by the Office of Congressional Ethics (a wholly different body from the House Committee on Ethics) said that red flags about West were first raised by female staffers in October 2014. The former Meadows aide who testified to the House committee last week said the issue was, in fact, discussed among staff months earlier. “It was strange to me that these allegations were spoken of in the congressman’s office as early as spring 2014 but no solid action was taken and that if these allegations were true, why someone would remain on staff,” the staffer told The Daily Beast. Meadow’s office declined to comment for this story.

Meadows spent a year enrolled at Florida State University and quit. Later he attended the University of South Florida and graduated with an associate degree. Meadows falsely claimed on his websites including the House website that he graduated with a BA from South Florida until the Tampa Tribune discovered that Meadows was deceiving everyone. In 2018 Meadows was forced to fess up to his dishonorable behavior and correct his bio to correctly reflect his AA degree from South Florida.

This is truly one of the "best and brightest" that are attracted to Donald Trump like a fly to a dung heap. As Trump has reduced the position of Chief of Staff of the President of the United States from powerful and important to über toadie Meadows should excel in the job....until the end of the year.

I think you ought to read the OCE report. Meadows had another Republican Chief of Staff interview the other staff members to ascertain the legal ramifications of what occurred and then let West go. Just an allegation shouldn't be an automatic termination, he had an investigation started.
