They are not winning because "immigration reform" is a code phrase for "amnesty" and too many of us remember what happened the last time an amnesty bill was passed. Adding billions for "border security" still isn't immigration reform, but simply throwing money at a problem.

Come to think of it, throwing money at problems is what the federal government seems to do best.

Exactly. The government has proven since that last amnesty that it has no intentions of actually securing the border and cracking down on the scum who hire illegals. As a matter of fact it has done everything to encourage illegal immigration with more promises of amnesty, ignoring sanctuary states and suing a state or two for enforcing laws against illegal immigration, calling people who voluntarily build fences and notify border patrol of illegal crossing vigilantes, and other things to encourage illegal immigration.Only a ****ing moron would believe that the federal government would do its job to secure the border, crack down on the scum who hire illegals and deter illegal immigration.

Its not the throwing money at the problem that is the problem it is the fact they are throwing money at the problem to not accomplish anything.

McCain making a "push"will surely lead to a defeat. Just like Obama planning on going on the trail.
