Effectiveness? Results matter, why do we have the results today? Have you ever run a business? I have and can tell you exactly why, businesses aren't going to be punished for being successful and that has turned them loose.

I am cheering results not an asshole. I have worked for assholes my entire life some true assholes and others who generated the results and were right. Trump has generated results and continues to do so.

I don't have a lot of faith in people from Canada attacking our President, our healthcare system, and our economic system as it is none of their business. You don't like Trump, I really don't give a damn, I care about results and so will the electorate next year. All I see from you and others are opinions based upon perception and not based in reality.

Whether you believe me or not I really don't care, the feeling is mutual about you and the rest of the PC crowd in this country and yours. What exactly is wrong with you people?

It's too long an explanation to get into detail, but I believe it is the primary system that is responsible for most of the failures over the years. It is easily manipulated as we saw with Hilary and co and easily hijacked from the outside.

However, any solution involves a viable third alternative. You see Republicans loose their base when they pivot to the middle in governance, and Democrats when they lie about keeping your plan. What is up in the air in either situation is a block of voters, mostly moderate, mostly don't vote or swings when they do. That's where pay dirt lies.

Third party initiatives fail in the US because they shoot for the top job draining off resources. A party needs to be built from the ground up; the power soon comes with the balance of power in the senate, and build from there.

However, imho, I believe the good ship "America" will have to sustain far more damage before it can right itself

There were few if any party line votes that I remember. But back then both parties had their liberal and conservative wings. I remember the Rockefeller liberal Republicans of the Northeast and the conservative southern democrats. The Democratic Party was the big tent party while the Republicans were the party of business.

Let's put it this way, a strictly partisan vote for Bill Clinton would not have happened

Same can be said of your claim, why not follow your own advice. Many on Muellers team were involved with the Enron scandal, there were very few leaks, and surprise, there were indictments. Just because there are no leaks, does not mean there is no info, I should think the Right would congratulate Mueller on keeping it quiet. You should send him a thank you note.

We essentially have more than 2 parties in many states here in the US. For example, I live on the Kansas side of the Kansas City, Missouri metro. On the Kansas side we have Conservative Republicans, Moderate Republicans, and Democrats. The Moderate Republicans are so different than the Conservative Republicans in the state that they are practically their own party. I typically vote Moderate Republican in state and local elections here - particularly if they are a member of the Mainstream Coalition.

The problem is the state party basically controls who gets to rise to national politics and they don't support any of the Moderate Republicans in elections for federal offices.

I believe it's similar in Washington and Oregon, where conservatives defeated the best attempt they will ever have for a VAD. Nonetheless, it is when that "practically" disappears that things happen.

Years ago Western Canada was perceived to 100% isolated from Ottawa, we represent too few votes, any party can in by winning Quebec and Ontario with 65% of Canada's population...and the Mulroney (conservative) government of the day couldn't have cared less. Result, disaffiliated Conservatives became members of a new upstart "Reform Party of Canada". It was a collection of disaffected from both Liberal and Conservative.
We were laughed at, a joke at any political gathering until a woman won a seat in the most conservative arena in Canada, Alberta. She, as one person, got a lot of coverage. Soon there were two, then a full election and 30+ seats, then 90, then on the brink of becoming government shot themselves in the head by joining the hated Conservative Party and kicked out the original leader. Today, most politicos see Preston Manning as the best Prime Minister Canada never had.

The big lesson there was that they refuse to accept the status quo, and stood for something a lot of Canadians believe in. They managed to force a tightening of banking regs when the US was untying the strings and a lot more we owe them for
