somebody needs to look at McCarthy and just say "blow me".
She has the authority to decide whether or not someone will be allowed onto a commission she set up. Challenge her. It won't go far because the SCOTUS is definitely not going to side with Republicans on that, especially not when she set it up the same way as the Benghazi commission was, with input from the Minority Party leader, not absolutely power of appointment.Pelosi doesn't run the republican party, the republican house or the republican voters. She's become a dictator within the House and she is going to be challenged in the SCOTUS. She has no reason not to seat the republican nominees to the committee except she doesn't like the questions they will ask about why the Captal Police were not prepared and why the Guard was told to stand down by Democrats. Wake up, the problem in America is marxist/socialist posing as democrats. What Pelosi and her democrat friends are doing, Biden, Schumer, Harris, Schiff, is not democracy. It is what happened in places like Germany, Cuba, and eastern block European countries in the 20th century and most recently in Venezuela. If you don't see it, you have your eyes closed. Take away law enforcement, dismantle the election system, put the economy on the dole and suppress the desire to work, invest in social justice that promotes the racial divide instead of unites the country, (find a scapegoat). Ignore the law, the Constitution and half of the country.
Is this some kind of new threat from the gop? Has anyone told McCarthy that the republicans are already not participating in governing america? Saying no to everything is not participating in my eyes.
As each day goes by the gop is making themselves more and more less relevant. The party of trump as lindsey says has all but killed the gop. Cheer that my republican counterparts.

I see it totally different and the right common sense way. McCarthy put up the names of those Senators that have been known to be absolutely blind to truth (seeing only what they WANT to see) and therefore unable to offer any constructive input to an investigation of an insurrection that is the worst thing that has ever happened to us. In addition, these Republican Senators picked by McCarthy have actually stated that they don't see "a problem" to what happened on January 6th.Pelosi doesn't run the republican party, the republican house or the republican voters. I disagree. They have been giving america the middle finger from the day trump took office and they were playing victim even when trump was campaigning. Remember now he told his followers back when he was campaigning the first time around that if he lost it was because he was cheated, the election was rigged. Four years of playing the victim while they ****ed over america.actually this was played (politically) pretty well by the GOP. they didn't participate fully so they don't have to convict themselves and now they get to play the victim (even though it's their folks that are the insurrectionists).
sleazy as hell but it was their only play (if a person lacks integrity).

Democrats tried to get a bipartisan commission set up through legislation.
McConnell filibustered that in the Senate and killed it.
So that left Pelosi the right to establish a House committee and as Speaker of the House she gets to set the rules.
McCarthy and McConnell can whine all they want but it is their own poor management and poor decisions.
Not just PR problems---------convictions, etc.....The GOP is more concerned with the terrible PR the investigation will surely bring.
The Republicans screwed up.If Nancy Pelosi can do this alone, why did she waste time with legislation? All that did was further delay the investigation.
I am baffled at how cheney has decided to commit political suicide. There is no way she survives her next primary. I do wonder where she is gonna land after she leaves congress. I guarantee you that her performance did not come cheap.Except Pelosi had her ace in the hole, Liz Cheney already seated on the Committee by her. So there is already one Republican there and I suspect there will be at least 2 more before this is done if not a full panel of Republicans. In the meantime Cheney is ripping McCarthy a new asshole, minute by minute.
I hear he is going to set up a Republican commission, which reminds me of OJ saying HE was going to investigate the murder he committed
LMAO... The speaker of the house has always had to power Pelosi is using...
Because deep down, democrats are not assholes. She wanted to give republicans a chance to have a say in the matter. It is the republicans who refused and reneged every time they had their chance. If Nancy Pelosi can do this alone, why did she waste time with legislation? All that did was further delay the investigation.
Go to a dictionary, any dictionary, and look up INTEGRITY. It's in real short supply on the right. Liz has it, and a lot of it. She realized that her job was worth less than the democracy of the U.S. The right needs many more like her.I am baffled at how cheney has decided to commit political suicide. Really is a shame when you realize that 53% of republicans are so badly educated that they fall for this crap. I am sure that it's those same folks who are blindly donating to a tax cheating thief."There was a lot of love. I've heard that from everybody. Many, many people have told me that was a loving crowd. Personally what I wanted is what they wanted. They showed up just to show support because I happen to believe the election was rigged at a level like nothing has ever been rigged before."
Is Trump mentally ill? Perhaps not. Perhaps he is fully aware of the gullibility of his flock. Using the mantra that the election was stolen from him, millions of his wide-eyed followers believe it and have contributed millions of dollars to Trump's coffers. A recent Ipsos/Reuters Poll national poll found that 53% of Republicans believe Trump is the “true president.”
"Using the mantra that the election was stolen from him, millions of his wide-eyed followers believe it and have contributed millions of dollars to Trump's coffers."
Talk about suckers, Trump's uninformed, intelligence challenged followers are the epitome of the term. The circumstances of their gullibility is being monitored all over the internet, and social media participants are having a field day.
The Post reports, "Former President Donald Trump’s political PAC raised about $75 million in the first half of this year as he trumpeted the false notion that the 2020 election was stolen from him, but the group has not devoted funds to help finance the ongoing ballot review in Arizona or to push for similar endeavors in other states, according to people familiar with the finances.
"Instead, the Save America leadership PAC — which has few limits on how it can spend its money — has paid for some of the former president’s travel, legal costs and staff, along with other expenses, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the group’s inner workings. The PAC has held onto much of its cash.
"Even as he assiduously tracks attempts by his allies to cast doubt on the integrity of last year’s election, Trump has been uninterested in personally bankrolling the efforts, relying on other entities and supporters to fund the endeavors."
Forum Republicans do not speak of their party or its leader because both are an embarrassment nearly every day. Early this week, the leader of the Republican Party in the House declared that his party is not interested in taking part into the House's investigation of the deadly Jan. 6 rampage of our capitol.
The far right extremists who participated in the rampage got their inspiration from Trump who was President at the time.
Little wonder why Republicans run and hide.
Spare me your artificial sanctimonious BS. Very few if any of them from either party have a shred of integrity. Cheney would not be grandstanding unless there was something in it for her that she deems more valuable than her seat. She went from the 3rd ranking Republican in the house to being unelectable in less than 90 days.Go to a dictionary, any dictionary, and look up INTEGRITY. It's in real short supply on the right. Liz has it, and a lot of it. She realized that her job was worth less than the democracy of the U.S. The right needs many more like her.
The republicans back in 1974 that walked into Nixon's office and basically fired him, now they had integrity. Republicans have been on a slow roll losing that trait.
Trump accelerated it to the place we are now.
Good job Trumpers.
The GOP died back in 1980 when Koch dollars kicked in big time. Now those dollars are going after state legislatures and local government. It's all about how many trillionsIs this some kind of new threat from the gop? Has anyone told McCarthy that the republicans are already not participating in governing america?
