What planet is John McCain living on? He tells us that living conditions in Baghdad are getting much better, and stages a photo op showing him walking down a street. There are some problems with the photo op:
1) Unseen in the photo op - 100 soldiers, 3 Black Hawks, and 2 Apache gunships tell me that even the world's most hated man, Adolf Hitler, could have walked down those streets without being in danger.
2) Seen in the photo op - If Baghdad is so safe, why was McCain also wearing a bullet proof vest?
3) After the photo op - There was an attack on those same streets, and it killed scores of people. Of course, the troops, which were there the previous day, had left.
4) About the photo op - Why was McCain willing to pull resources from other areas where they were needed in order to stage a photo op? The answer to that question is embedded in the question itself.
5) The reality of the photo op - Don't ask McCain. Ask those who actually live and work in the area. Things are not getting better, but are really getting worse.
