New revelations over false allegations that Border Patrol agents "whipped" migrants are likely to worsen relations between agents and Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The latest revelations about the year-long controversy over false claims that Border Patrol agents "whipped" or "strapped" Haitian migrants are likely to exacerbate already sour relations between Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and agents.

Fox News reported Tuesday how Mayorkas was told hours before a White House press conference in September 2021 that the photographer who captured a clash between Border Patrol agents and Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas, days earlier had said that the incident was being misconstrued.

A narrative had emerged that agents on horseback had whipped migrants and was being perpetuated by top Democrats and the White House. But the photographer had told outlets he had not seen any whipping.

So, this sniveling piece of garbage, Mayorkas, knew beforehand that no whipping took place, and then got up there and lied to the American people. He should be fired immediately. Documented lying piece of crap.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection internal investigation has confirmed that several agents on horseback used unnecessary force against Haitians as they crossed into Del Rio, TX in September 2021.

“The investigation concluded that there were failures at multiple levels of the agency, a lack of appropriate policies and training, and unprofessional and dangerous behavior by several individual Agents,” according to the CBP report released Jul. 8, 2022

Investigators further concluded that its mounted agents were never threatened by the Haitians. Instead, the agents were trying to drive back the migrants into the Rio Grande, the natural border between sections of the United States and Mexico, even though those particular Haitians had already made it onto U.S. soil.

The investigation found there were leadership failures of horse patrol units in Del Rio and that CBP agents used denigrating language against Haitian migrants.

However, “the investigation found no evidence that agents struck any person with horse reins,” investigators concluded in the report. That finding was met with skepticism by some.

“Pictures don’t lie,” said Adorah Pierre-Mondesir, vice president of Houston Haitian United, a Houston-based civic organization that helped many of the Haitians asylum seekers after leaving Del Rio, TX. “I don’t know how else you can interpret that,” Pierre-Mondesir said. Maybe “he would have been caught by surprise, or if [it] was like something that he [the CBP agent] didn’t do intentionally. But it did happen.”.."

Since when is lying about illegal immigration and the actions of border agents is worthy of jail time? Remember when Trump said that 4,000 terrorists were apprehended at the southern border? He didn't get thrown in prison and ended up with 74 million votes in 2020.

Does this new standard only apply to Democrats, or does it apply to everyone? Does it apply to people who previously made false statements, or are they grandfathered in?

Reminds me a little bit of the Tonkin Gulf incident which started our all out involvement in Vietnam. Bubble trails approaching a US destroyer were mistaken for torpedoes, but within minutes were determined to actually be dolphins.
