July 14 (UPI) -- Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkastold those considering fleeing Haiti and Cuba by sea amid political turmoil for the United States that they will be denied entry.

"The time is never right to attempt migration by sea. To those who risk their lives doing so, this risk is not worth taking," he said Tuesday during a press conference. "Allow me to be clear: If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States."

What a bunch of Communist sympathizing hypocrites….Maybe the Cubans should go to the southern border, then it’s no questions asked.

For decades, Cubans were a special case. Oversimplifying a little, before Mariel all a Cuban had to do was set foot on U.S. soil to practically guarantee a green card. This was great for the U.S. because every defector (gusano) was a black eye for Cuban socialism and their USSR buddies. Looked good during the Cold War.

Also, Cubans got here and started working for a living, that helped. What they did for South Florida and parts of NJ was a sight to see. Things were easier because so many had green cards but they picked up the ball and ran.

The Administration has practically invited people from Central America to come here, yet it is openly warning people from Haiti & Cuba not to.

Why haven't genuine liberals spoken out against this clearly discriminatory policy?

These people are actually fleeing communism. Not coming here so they can have more.

Can you cite where in asylum law your position is stated?

Love how you threw this in to make your lie ok.

Do Cubans tend to vote Republican? I'm not sure.

Mayorkas impaled himself on his own petard of hypocrisy.

Accept all who come to the Southern border, as they are likely to vote Democrat in the future.
Reject all who come from Cuba via boat, as they are likely to vote Republican in the future.

Cubans migrants are fleeing a repressive totalitarian dictatorship.
Latin American triangle country migrants are fleeing for economic advantage.

Those differences are vitally important to the Democrats, it would appear, who gladly accept some, but not others.

So fleeing drug cartels bad, fleeing communists good. Cubans should go through our southern border- though questions will be asked... ✌️

Well, yes, they actually are. The protests have been about the shortage of basic supplies and services. Mind you, the US economic blockade has exacerbated this problem. As for Hatians, they would be fleeing the poverty and economic instability of their country; again, not dissimilar to Central American migrants.

He doesn’t want the Hatians anyway.

The position of "Claque Failed Casino Operator" is that "Illegal immigrants" are only wanted from "approved" countries (i.e. those that the US government does not support) but those from "unapproved" countries (i.e. those that the US government does support) are not wanted at all.

What a racist pos. Hopefully Biden cans him quick.

Only when Democrats do something royally stupid re: Cuban policy matters.
See: Bernie Sanders (praising the Castros) and Biden (wanting to buddy back up to Cuba like his old boss did)
