Allegedly objective Today show reporter, Matt Lauer has released a special called, “Countdown to Doomsday,” about the top ten types of events that could destroy human kind. Global warming was number 4.

It WAS appropriately on the Sci-Fi channel, so it might not exactly qualify as an example of media bias, but since liberals here (Hips., Aps, Jfuh, etc.) constantly get away with smearing OPINION journalists like Limbaugh, Hannity, and O’Reilly with hysterical, omission-ridden arguments mass produced by far Left groups (to compensate for not having any ACTUAL examples of conservative media bias), I figure no one should have a problem with an honest, original criticism of a supposedly objective journalist slanting the issues.

First, let’s get a look at some of Lauer’s “objective” reporting from the Today Show.

He has:

-accusatively wondered why the government hasn’t been Socialist enough to pass national policies mandating longer vacation time.

-asked Bush to look him in the eye and tell him he was serious about the environment, suggesting he was lying-based on him saving the U.S. from the economic sodomy of Kyoto. Maybe Lauer should have checked out the gigantic hybrid car research funding Bush has been initiating for years. Wherever there is a business-friendly way to help the environment, Bush has advocated it.

That’s the RESPONSIBLE way to do things. But Lauer couldn’t bring himself to be as mindlessly accepting of Bush telling the truth as he was to Hillary when she assured him that her career-felon husband was just being persecuted by a vast right-wing conspiracy.

-said this about the comically phony Al Gore convention kiss that cost Gore God knows how many votes: “After seeing that kiss, I figured out how you survived for thirty years-way to go Mr. Vice President.”

Way to be objective Mr. Lauer.

-stretched the crap out of some wordings in Edmund Morris’s book, Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan, to make it appear that he thought Reagan was an “airhead,” even though his book is largely devoted to explaining what a misunderstood visionary Reagan was. He also misrepresented Morris when talking to Bush Senior about the book, claiming that it states that Reagan never liked the Bush family.

Morris was furious and came on the Today Show to point out what his book had actually said and to call Lauer out for the lying liberal weasel he is.

and so on.

In the “Doomsday” special, he:

-accusatively insinuates that Republicans refuse to do anything about global warming even though the people understand that Katrina was a direct cause of global warming-which is a fringe view, even to many of those who accept the THEORY of global warming.

-uses subjective, misleading statistics to back up his Katrina insinuation.

-perpetuates this fringe liberal conspiracy theory that Republicans are silencing global warming experts all over the country-which begs the question, why were all the “objective scientists” used in this hack job of a show NOT afraid to come on and spew against Republicans if all their friends and colleagues were being silenced?

-misrepresents Bush as having recently finally admitted he was wrong, and that we in fact SHOULD end our addiction to oil…the only problem with this is that Bush has been initiating huge, huge grants for hybrid fuel cell cars for years and years now, among other things to end our “oil addiction.” This portrayal was simply a malicious lie.

I have seen so many politicized, misleading reports on global warming from both sides that I still can’t decide what’s real and what’s hype. But this textbook example of liberal misrepresentation has me less receptive to their arguments than ever.

No one who promotes the theory of global warming ever seems to have a shred of integrity in presenting their case, so I am increasingly inclined to not buy into it.
