Mass Murderers?

Ok so today in history class my teacher started fliping out on me because i said that Ted Bundy was smart. Then we started arguing and the class just looked at me like I was stupid. Ok so the idea that i was trying to get at was that he was one person who actually belived in himself and didnt just listen to everyone else, he did what he belived in. Like him other mass murderes such as the Zodiac killer and Bruce Lee Harris were also very smart, they did more with their lives then most people ever dreamed they wanted too. I think that only because they did a bad thing doesnt make them stupid, yea what they did was wrong but if you examined them people could learn something from them. People are just braindead and think wow they killed a person they are stupid. Most of them are this way because people treat them like $hit in school and their parents dont care about them, imagine if they were treated like everyone else and did something good. Ted Bundy couldve done something useful with his life, but no his parents had to make his life suck so he goes around killing people.

Also they all think Einstien was smart. If you take the number of people that were ever murdered and then look at the fact that he practically made the atomic bomb. And now we have enough bombs to blow the earth up 150 times last time i checked. So i really think Einstien is alot worst then any of these crazy killers.

So i just want to know what you think about this?
 
I think there are two different kinds of "being smart". there is book smart (Einstein) and there is common sense smart. Two very different things. Oh and you are correct Ted Bundy was smart but in a cunning, deceptive way.
 
Your teacher is a retard. Serial killers are known for their intelligence. Most of them have above average IQs. The fact that most of them manage to outsmart law enforcement agencies at the local and federal level is proof of this. Serial killers can on killing sprees for years and not be caught. This is a sign of intelligence, resilience and survival skills the average human being has but can't seem to be in tune with all the time.
 
But what about hte kids what does that tell you about the kids? I got all these weird looks in that class nd i was the only one laughing at how dumb they were. Felt kinda good about it lol.

A truly intelligent person would not kill people randomly and without any real gain. A retard would. A truly intelligent person would realize that there is no benefit from killing and they would refocus their talents elsewhere. Semi-psychosis is not a factor. That just goes to show that they are morons... Whether or not they are clever enough to elude capture for a time is irrelevant.

I would agree with Just Me 2 on this one.

Einstein did not come close to "practically making the atomic bomb" either...
 

Ever heard of doing things for pleasure? Serial killers(in some cases) get a high from killing like you and I do from our sex making.

I dont clasify "getting Laid" as a sign of Intelligence...just a sign of being horny and/or drunk.

Relating killing to getting high makes my case even better, because people that are unable to control their impulses show signs of not being smart enough to understand CONSEQUENSES!

I didn't say getting layed was a sign of intelligence I'm just saying that it takes some level of intelligence to do what they do. You said that they dont have a reason for killing. I disagree, most serial killers do have a motive and even if they dont. Why do they need one? They enjoy killing the way you and I enjoy sex. They do it for pleasure. So do we.

People who get high do understand the consequences. They just feel like they're smart enough to get away with it. The same with serial killers.
 


Material gains arent important to everyone and ted bundy was smart.People do things they are motivated to do very intelligent people do very stupid things because we all give into passion

It is my personal opinion that a person can be both very smart and very stupid at the same time.

For example, a physics professor might be very smart about physics yet be very stupid about some other aspect of his/her existence.

That is how I view the previously mentioned serial killer. Very smart in the ways he avoided capture and such, but very stupid in his choice of things to focus his intellect on.
 
But everyone only thinks that its stupid because he killed a person no one thinks its stupid to kill the plant that you smoke to get high. But getting high is stupid.

Ya know tonight I was bored out of my mind, so I flipped on one of my favorite shows............I am highly embarrassed to admit this but.........I LOVE NEW YORK.

Now I know people who know me on here will not believe that I like that show but I do........for one reason. I laugh from the start to the end. Its the best comedy routine goin. It is hilarious. Say Mr. Boston got his arse kicked tonight by Chance in the boxing ring and of course he was eliminated by New York, probably because he stood there picking his nose. BEst kisser in the house but that was not enough. LMAO :rofl :rofl

What the heck are we coming to? Ted Bundy admitted to killing and raping over 30 woman and we think hes smart? HE IS DEAD. He was so smart that he got caught, convicted and executed. HE IS DEAD.

How did he demonstate his smartness, by killing woman? He was a sicko, pathetic human being. Who cares about him to even discuss him. and to say he was smart?

As Hatuey said, Ted Bundy, as with most serial killers was very intelligent. When people said Bundy was 'stupid' they were, undoubtedly referring to their opinion of his behavior, not his intelligence. This is something we do all the time. Trip over your own feet. Some may say. 'wow, you're stupid'. Are they referring to your intelligence? No, they are referring to your behavior. Even that, gramatically, is not accurate. Regardless, Bundy was not stupid; his problem was more of a psychological nature. He, like most serial killers, had Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is can be broken down to either sociopathy or psychopathy.

I think considering these men and men like them stupid is a very dangerous mind set to get into. We can all agree what they did was immoral or amoral. By no means within social standards. But to consider them stupid would be drastically underestimating them.


for the record Ted Bundy was recorded with an IQ of 124 ... not a genius but well above average.

I wonder what the average IQ of a person here on DP is?

Then again, IMHO IQ tests are not an accurate representation of the combination of intelligence/skills/knowledge/etc. that make up actual "intelligence".

Thank you master. I apologize, these people they dont see the ways of the Jedi as clearly as you and I do. I say we nuke'em. Muahahaha. I mean, we must continue to perform until they understand that the force is a force to be reckoned with.

The accuracy of IQ test is subject for another debate.
However, no matter how much you disagree with the accuracy you must acknowledge that they at least give a good ballpark comparison.

btw skill plays no part in iq. knowledge is a component though .
 
Back on topic I found this really interesting read on serial killers doesn't say much for intelligence but I doubt anybody with an IQ over 105 is stupid.

Average IQ is 90-110, so 105 puts one in the upper end of this range. And remember, this is the low end for serial killers.

Return of the Jedi or Empire strikes back? This must be decided now.

There have been serial killers that weren't exacly high up on the food chain like Ed Gein and there have been serial killers that have above average intelligence quotients like Mr. Bundy or even Charles Manson. The latter managed to convince a large group of people to commit murders in his name. Being able to manipulate others into commiting such acts is a sign of intelligence isnt it? It has to be.
 

Question: If you have watched all the Star Wars movies, and have at least somewhat followed the Star Wars story, would you consider any of the Sith/Dark Jedi to be serial killers?
