This would only bother an English as a Second Language person (such as yourself?). "Underwear" in this case is an euphemism for "underpants," which is plural.

And yes, the choice of word is a bit ridiculous. Who is offended by "underpants"?
 
There are some here who idolize this woman and her brilliance. The fact that she has absolutely no clue should be obvious to everyone with a brain cell.

I imagine the flatulence of a liberal to be like stale cabbage and broccoli slow cooked by Pelosi and if you could smell that through your never washed face diaper that means those Covid buggers passéd through like Biden passing wind through his soaked Depends
