I'm beginning to think that the end game is that either Zelensky agrees to capitulate or Russia destroys Ukraine completely and then annexes it after most of the Ukrainians have left the country. This would enable Russia to claim Ukraine once and for all. They would then probably move Russians from Russia into Ukraine, rebuild it, and colonize it.

This is a ****ing nightmare.

I don't know why, but even after all the decimated cities and countless killings of civilians in Ukraine, there's just something about this crime in particular that gives me the screaming heebie jeebies. Maybe it's the fact that the dead in Ukraine are dead and their suffering is over, and the kidnapped people have to live in captivity for the rest of their lives. I felt the exact same way when I watched Kunta Kinte put on a slaver ship in Roots.

Ugh.

Russia has to repopulate itself. Declining birth rates and hopefully high body count in Ukraine means they need people.
