They had girls do that with white rifles in our HS marching band. Not as crisp, but much the same thing.
 
Alas the solo rifle exhibition drill specialist is Andres Ryan of the US Army. The civilian Andres Ryan is currently Head Judge of the National Rifle Exhibition League cosponsored by the prestigious Pershing Rifles and the Drill Warrior University.

Andres Ryan's dazzling performance in the clip is at the 2012 annual banquet of the HQ, U.S. Army Medical Department at the Pentagon in Washington DC which is Ryan's hometown. Ryan's appearance was right after he won the first of his six World Rifle Exhibition Drill World Championships which is unprecedented and unmatched.


So this was the first of Andres Ryan's supreme record of six solo rifle exhibition drill world championships.

In this first title performance Andres Ryan is deliberate, precise, smooth and impressive. There's a light moment at the very conclusion of his drill when he happenstance catches the Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant Head Judge out of position to receive Ryan's request to be dismissed ha. We can hear other ROTC cadets in the seats joking, "Where you at?" Ha. Cracked me up it did.

Ryan finished his cadet then Soldier career in Rifle Exhibition Drill after 15 years of it to include as leader of the rifle deadly ha Street Elite and as holder of the coveted Blue Sling Certification.

We remember Andrew Katz of the Air Force Academy in my cadet thread that I'm pining to return to amid all the chaos of the time. Katz spectacular as his is has run up against his inconceivable, which is someone even better than he. One razzle dazzle guy only named Rainwater in the bottom video.


Cadet Competitive Rifle Precision Drill contestants are scored in six categories, these being: Impression, Composition and Flow, Handling, Marching, Precision, and Showmanship.

So this nerdy looking guy is smooth and slick and shows that he can do it again at will.
 
Indeed I wouldn't stay put sitting there as everyone I could see did in the banquet clip. Even in the event competitions I'd never sit at the boundary line as we see a number of devotees do. I call it the suicide wish by solo drill. It's not for me either, so no thx.

Each of these guys do drop their bayonetted rifle or lose control of their spinning bayonetted rifle at one time or another. I've seen videos of various drill contestants lose control of their bayonetted rifle during the scoring rounds, to include the qualifying rounds and the medal round.

These guys are perfectly human. Rare as it is they fling one now and then.

I posted a video of Andrew Katz in the AL state championships for high school junior ROTC program contestants when Katz simply dropped or "grounded" his rifle during a "routine" spin right there in front of his body. It wasn't a tossing spin high into the air which of course is far more challenging to do -- behind the back bayonetted spinning rifle catches by everyone is always an Act of God for everyone. The chosen solo rifle drill ones or one could say.

God Rules in these solo bayonetted rifle drill competitions and exhibitions and I've never been in his good graces so I watch out in stuff like this in particular. And as I say to those who pray, pray harder till it's over. It's noted too some judges and camera guys close in on the contestant with abandon. Contestants don't like this and the judges know this but there's no rule against it.

I could see Andres Ryan at the conclusion of his performance enjoying his addressing the empty space of the Marine MGySGT head judge who was practically breathing down Ryan's neck from behind out there. It's a Marine thing actually, getting in tight and up close meaning to unnerve the target. It's a correlation actually that the closer the judges get to you the better you're impressing 'em. You've got some judges trying to find a wrinkle somewhere on you, as it were. In fact I noticed during Ryan's march off from the 2012 1st place championship performance his white rifle sling had some give in it that didn't belong in it. Ryan is totally fortunate his time expired before the strictly tight tension of his sling was itself busy doing. Have no doubt the slightly slackened sling was more than apparent to him out there banging and spin tossing his piece.

I daresay your could train a monkey to do that drill, given enough training hours.
