How would classified polling data help Russia? As Chairman of the campaign Paul Manafort had access to the RNC voter file, which is classified, private polling data. It's a voter file which is full of detailed personal information about everyone that ever voted Republican. It's incredibly detailed.

Manafort Accused of Sharing Trump Polling Data With Russian Associate
WASHINGTON — As a top official in President Trump’s campaign, Paul Manafort shared political polling data with a business associate tied to Russian intelligence, according to a court filing unsealed on Tuesday. The document provided the clearest evidence to date that the Trump campaign may have tried to coordinate with Russians during the 2016 presidential race.
Mr. Manafort’s lawyers made the disclosure by accident, through a formatting error in a document filed to respond to charges that he had lied to prosecutors working for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, after agreeing to cooperate with their investigation into Russian interference in the election.

Russia was in the midst of crafting a covert active measures campaign which directed the GRU to intefere in our election. To do that effectively they would have to know where their leverage would have an impact, where they could maximize their social media campaign, when and where they should be dumping the hacked emails that they obtained illegally. Any finished analytics and insights that were not publicly available, any campaign propietary information that the Trump campaign moved to the Russians through Konstantin Kilimnik and ultimately to Oleg Deripaska could have been used in that Russian campaign. This is really the avenue where the conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin would have worked together to fashion the way the Russians interfered with the 2016 campaign. The gap is what did Trump know about this and when did he know it? Remember, this information was mistakenly released by Manafort's attorneys and was mistakenly unredacted. What information does Mueller have about Paul Manafort and the Trump campaign in those areas that were highly redacted?

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will brief House lawmakers Thursday about his department's plan to terminate sanctions on three companies linked to Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire with ties to Vladimir Putin. The briefing, which is slated for exactly one week after Democrats officially took a majority of the House, is among the first instances of the party using its newfound power to conduct oversight of the Trump administration.
