Man with rifle busted in Times Square subway station
A man with what appeared to be an assault rifle was arrested in the Times Square subway station Friday afternoon, police sources said.
A source said the suspect was observed in the mezzanine level of the station, where officers saw him sitting and charging his cell phone. The officers then noticed an AK-47, in plain view. The firearm did not have a magazine inserted, but the magazine, which holds the ammunition, was within his reach.
Well, when it comes to news articles that have so little information that it's a useless article, this one is a clear winner. No one dead or shot this time.

I wonder what the charge for his arrest was. Sitting and charging a cellphone while armed? That's GOT to be against the law somewhere.
Okay. I didn't know that. Sucks to live in NY, I guess. I live in Colorado. Open carry is legal.Openly carrying a firearm is illegal everywhere in New York City for all persons, with the exception of law enforcement officers and uniformed military personnel on duty.

Yes, gun laws work.No one dead or shot this time.
They either do not get it or intentionally play obtuse.I know, right? It's hard to imagine a worse infringement of one's rights than not being able to walk around in public with an AK-47, terrorizing everyone around you.
Was he actually terrorizing anyone? Sounds like he was just sitting there minding his own business.I know, right? It's hard to imagine a worse infringement of one's rights than not being able to walk around in public with an AK-47, terrorizing everyone around you.

I don't know about most people. Perhaps you are correct. Doesn't mean they are right to feel that way, though. Does it?I don't this most people would feel comfortable if a random jackass with an AK-47 was walking around them. Do you?

For me, if I saw this in Colorado I would be wary but I wouldn't freak out.
Maybe, but not because of that. Last thing we need in NYC is shoot-outs in the subway.Okay. I didn't know that. Sucks to live in NY, I guess.
A man openly defying the law, openly carrying a rifle? In the USA? In these times? With the headlines of the last mass shootings not yet dry?Was he actually terrorizing anyone? Sounds like he was just sitting there minding his own business.
