Man in Georgia wanted to attack the White House, federal officials say

(CNN)Hasher Taheb, 21, of Cumming, Georgia, was arrested in connection with a plot to attack the White House and other federal buildings, US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia BJay Pak said Wednesday.

Pak told reporters at a media briefing that Taheb planned to attack the White House and other locations using explosives that included a homemade explosive and an anti-tank rocket.

Taheb was investigated after officials received a tip from the community Pak said.

FBI was informed from within the Muslim comunnity- do not set that aside

He had detailed plans of the West Wing including where SService were posted

On Aug. 25, 2018, Taheb allegedly put his vehicle up for sale. An FBI informant reached out to show interest and met with the suspect days later.

Taheb allegedly said he planned to travel to “hijra,” a term said to refer to Islamic State territory and he was selling the car to fund the trip. But he didn’t have a passport.

He allegedly told the informant he wanted to attack the White House and Statue of Liberty in jihadist attacks.

Anyone yakking this much about his "plans" of crime to someone looking to buy his vehicle is almost certainly not a actual threat.
