Making Nazis Look Good

If there's anything we've learned from the Brexit vote, it's the potential for hatred and xenophobia to overcome a nation. I think we really need to start cracking down on hateful speech, and if our government won't do it, we the people should do it.

And we wonder why people want to keep their guns...

That is just ridiculous.

The Brits voting to make their own decisions regarding their country had nothing to do directly with Xenophobia.

If you want to restrict your speech, then by all means, but if you decide to make that decision for other people, I hope you are willing to accept the consequences.

Espescially because AtlantaAdonis' definition of "Hate Speech" is

Hate Speech (n)(adj): Speech that I dont like is "Hate Speech".

The People (n): Individuals who think and act like I do constitute "the people".

Ergo, The people are now going to start cracking down on Hate Speech... . If any train of thought supports the need for the Second Amendment, it is this.

Now they just need to vote to get their guns back.

Make England great again!

Can you please define what hate speech is?

and there goes the death of liberty.

It's interesting that there was such an age split in the vote. Older voters in England want to return to what they remember of their youth and nostalgia, while younger voters who are more able to deal with the 21st Century and see their future as being screwed by racist/nationalist nonsense but unfortunately not voting in as high percentages as the baby boomers screwed them.

Older voters in England want to undo mistakes of their youth, ignorance and naivete, while younger voters who believe themselves more able to deal with the 21st Century and see their future as being screwed by racist/nationalist nonsense but unfortunately not voting in as high percentages as the baby boomers want to make the same mistake their parents made.

I see it differently, much like I see the Trump phenomena here in the US. Younger people embrace the global economy. Older people want to go back to a past that can no longer be revisited.

All the family members I have, who are under 30, work in some global enterprise: supply chain management, accounting for multi-nationals, business software implementation, engineering with global partners and international manufacturing, etc. It's the young who have embraced the new world, which is flat. The old, they still want to mine for coal in holes and bring back smokestack industries.

Are you real ?

Amazing to see how stupid some people are. How do you manage to make Nazis look like they are the voice of reason?

Leave it to liberals...they'll find a way.

...totally ignoring the white supremacists' right to free speech, while apparently being proud of her group's use of violence.

The idiots stayed to cause more trouble even long after the Nazi's dispersed. The feral rats even attacked a reporter.

Actually, it raises the question of which group is the Nazis.

Yes. The young embraced the global economy in the 1950s too. The Gods granted their dreams come true and "Hey Presto!" they understand international trade better, than they did. Now don't get me wrong. I embrace global trade, EC, TTIP and all. But I do understand, where the problems are and why the EC would work and the EU is a mess.

IMO, if you told me I will now be taking instruction from Brussels, under force of law, I'd vote "No" too. So, it's not like I do not "get" that argument.

Perhaps youth are less inclined to desire local governance or fail to understand the danger of governance from afar. In that, I say they are naive. Us old schoolers know better.

Is there any right granted to citizens in the constitution you would not want to take away?

Well, when the thought police fail, you will need the vigilantes out there mopping up, I guess.

Laws should be determined based upon 21st century sound economics and social science and not some ancient document written by a bunch of jesus freak, slave-owning creationists.

So let me get your logic straight...

You are equating, person or small group of people (with almost no power) who is basically saying don't be a racist or bigot, to National Socialist Party which was the political arm of one of the most power counties in the world and responsible for killing, torture, incarceration into concentration camps millions of blacks, gays, gypsies and jews and none-whites, in order to promote the White Aryan Race? That is essentially your measuring stick?

Just a friendly hint. Despite what you hear on TV and the insatiable appetite to parrot what you heard, exercise a little judgement. When anyone Right or Left equates, these minor trivals blurs to "NAZI" Party and what they did. That often tend to make that person look really really really stupid. Because it clearly demonstrates the utter lack judgement, knowledge of history and facts, plus huge tendencies to hyperbolize and exaggerate things and person whom one should totally ignore.

Just a friendly advise.

Uh, the people protesting who were attacked are Neo Nazis. Yeah, I probably should have added "Neo" to the title. But, it does not take a genius to figure out that this was not the intent. I honestly had no idea that some people would be so stupid as to confuse this with the 1940 version of Nazis. I should have never assumed that however.

Do try to keep an eye on context though before you rant.
