I noticed that when I make links using vB code, it now shows the title of the page in parenthesis which I do not want. how can I change this?

Hrmm.. unsure - this is the current default action on creating links.
There are 3 modes to choose from in the setup end:
The title is placed in the link to provide the search engines with "keywords".
