Maggot is turning around this economy

I like to always try to find silver linings in everything, and here are two.

Trump's idiocy has shown everyone that:

1. Protectionism makes the country worse off in the long run.

2. Labor is a cost, and cheaper is better.

Perhaps not in the way folks were hoping for however.

if you ignore every negative externality associated with workers not being able to afford basic necessities.

But AnCaps believe they should just starve quietly in that case.

Not "everyone". Just everyone with any common sense.
We STILL have members here who constantly defend Trump's ridiculous lies.

It’s isn’t common sense to offload the external costs of workers not being able to afford basic amenities onto the taxpayer.

if you ignore every negative externality ...

I don't think his political and economic philosophy allows for the existence of negative externalities to capitalist endeavors. It is the perfect system. Only things outside of the system can cause negative consequences.

What do you get when you combine dishonest spin with Chicken Little? This .

Take that first bullet point. "South Korea is pulling billions...etc." Not true. Some companies are "reconsidering" their investments, but none have "pulled" their investments yet.

But, let's talk about this bullet point. Are we supposed to let countries disregard our laws so they don't "pull their investments"? I don't think so. If South Korean companies pull their investments because we won't allow them to break our laws, I say good. We don't need, nor want, their criminal money. They can get the **** out.

Are you referring to me? If so, what lie do you see me defending in my comment?

Exactly what laws did they break and, if so, why did Maggot beg them to stay once he realized they had done nothing wrong and were actually training stupid Americans to do jobs they had no idea how to do on their own?

Care to answer that?

#2 is part of why we are in the economic mess we are in. Americans expect and need a decent wage to afford a decent life. Off-shoring is short-sighted, IMO. Chasing the last penny isn’t a sound business strategy.

The lies are with Trump. His tariffs and poor economic policies are destroying the US and US consumers and still you defend him.
I didn't mention Trump nor defend anything about him in my comment.

Quit lying about me.

Bye.

That LG plant employed Koreans and others who were in the country illegally.
You mean they overstayed their visas inadvertently. Clearly an egregious crime. Try them for a capital offense.

That LG plant employed Koreans and others who were in the country illegally.
More to the point, why then did Maggot virtually beg them to stay once he realized how goddamn dumb his ICE goons were.

How do you explain that?

That LG plant employed Koreans and others who were in the country illegally.

Why did Trump say those criminals could stay in the US? Is he pro-illegal immigration?

Or were they actually legal visa holders and ICE blatantly lied about them being illegal?

Welfare isn't a "negative externality," it's a government policy that could be ended with a stroke of a pen at any time.

No, welfare is an attempt to correct for the negative externalities imposed on society by people not being able to afford basic necessities.
