MAGAS know exactly why Johnson hasn't sworn in Rep. Grijalva and are fine with it.

Last night, I watched Johnson give his sixth different B.S. answer as to why he hasn't sworn in Representative Grijalva a month after her election. The ease in which this phony Christian lies is certainly "Trump-like".
We all know exactly why Johnson is avoiding swearing her in. The thing is that our MAGA DP'ers know this as well.
It is truly hard for me to fathom that the folks that we debate with here on DP would actually be defenders of pedophiles or possible pedophiles. Sadly, each time that they defend Johnson's delay tactics, they do just that.

The democrats are simply reaping what they have sown. They voted NO on the CR and knew it would result in a government shutdown. Government shutdown, means the government is closed for business. Nobody gets sworn in while the government is shut down.
It's so great to live in a country where you are allowed to post such absurd opinions.

I would have said that a few years ago. But now I have absolutely no difficulty believing it.

explain why Johnson sworn in two Florida republicans during House recess and he will not for a Democrat from Arizona. The swearing in was done during a Pro Forma session.
Seems to me Johnson is the one playing politics.

Besides the House has other work to be done besides the FY26 budget. Guess some in the House do not want to Make America Great Again.

Exactly, they have reaped what they have sown.
Democrats think everybody should break the rules for them. What an entitled bunch. All they have to do is end the shutdown and the swearing in will commence.

How great is it to live in a country that can't even keep it's government functioning?

Where’s that rule in the law?

Republicans are incapable of governing, plain and simple. They control all levels of the federal government and can't even keep government employees paid and offices open, never mind actually governing.
"But but but it's all their fault!"
Bloody pathetic.

I believe the two FL republicans were sworn into office back in April at a time in which the government was not shut down. The AZ representative is having to wait because democrats voted to shut down the government. The pro forma session that would have to be called is not part of regular order and the swearing in would be left to the discretion of the Speaker. It's politics.

You clearly know nothing about our governmental procedure.
The Republicans voted for a CR to keep the government funded through Nov. 21st.

It looks as if "No taxation without representation" is meaningless to today's Republican Party.

LOL! They are clearly incapable of governing like democrats or in a manner that would please democrats. The only reason government employees are not getting paid and government offices are not open is that Democrats by order of Chuck Schumer voted against the CR knowing full well that the result would be the shutdown of government. Your analysis is like blaming mommy for her children sneaking cookies out of the cookie jar because daddy bought cookies at the store. The democrats have clearly been obstructionists since losing the 2024 elections. They previously voted 13 times during the Biden administration on CR's to keep the government running and Republicans voted to pass the CR's by providing enough needed votes to reach the 60 vote threshold. Democrats as of yet have not done the same. Instead they offered a 59 page alternative CR, (the republican original was 24 pages) that contains $1.5 trillion new spending to replace things the BBB bill passed earlier in the year removed. Mostly is was democrat spending.

It looks as if "No taxation without representation" is meaningless to today's Republican Party.
The democrats passed ACA in 2009 without republican input in the final draft and no republican votes.

Oh, I know some things.
But you're right, I'm at a loss to understand how the ruling party, in control of everything that matters in the federal government, is incapable of maintaining the barest-bones of government functions.
****ing incapable, and don't blame the Democrats. You might as well blame the incapability on the CCP but it still says the Republican Party is incapable of governing.

D'ya ever wonder, in private moments, if there isn't a flaw in your system? At least one flaw? Or does all this make sense to you?

The president is responsible for the shut down.

MAGA and Republicans are literally protecting men who screwed and sodomized girls.

I think one of the reasons the GOP is losing on the shutdown issue with the public is because Johnson won't bring the government back in session to continue their work. There is no reason for the House not to be in session except that Johnson has been given his marching orders.

Republicans control everything in the federal government that matters and they can't even keep the barest bones of government functions operating. By definition they are incapable of governing.
And if they truly are as helpless as you say they are, and their helplessness isn't their fault, than your system of government is seriously flawed.
Right?

Nonsensical third-reich-wing bullshit.

Johnson's confederate traitor ass hasn't sworn her in because it would give the democrats the votes they need to release the Epstein files.

Eventually, this will lead to Mike Johnson being charged with obstruction of congress and HE WILL go to prison for it.

More baseless lies.

The democrats passed ACA in 2009 without republican input.
Not the same, and you should know this.

Republican Congresspersons had the opportunity to vote on it, which, of course, means their constituents had a voice in the matter.

The topic of this thread refers to the fact that today's Republican SOH is preventing American voters from being represented in the House - and from having a voice.
