Blame the MAGA Media Complex all you want MAGA van guy, you're still going to jail for a long time! This is a pretty piss poor defense IMO.

‘MAGA Bomber’ Had Personal ‘Infatuation’ With Trump, ‘Religiously’ Watched Fox News

From the Twinkie defense to the Hannity defense.

Sayoc is a stochastic terrorist and needs to be locked up for the rest of his life.

I'm waiting for the same righties who defended the MAGA car rammer to tell me that he is being treated unfairly and that it was Democrats fault they got bombs sent to them. hehe

Don't worry, our resident supporters of fascism will be here in no time to blame the Democrats. One way or another this is all going to be AOC's fault.

Yeah, just because the MAGA Bomber was bad at his job doesn't mean he should get off the hook. He can watch Fox News in jail for the rest of his life.

Indeed, it is still terrorism.

Imagine that, someone who watches propaganda and gets all riled up from all the hate and does something wrong.

Lots of little ticking time bombs like him out there.

Honestly, the amount of bumper stickers and decals on his car should have been enough of a sign.

Nobody who puts that much **** on their car can possibly be sane.

That was the PizzaGate guy too, sitting around listening to conspiracies. Though thankfully no one was hurt. In that case, and with the MAGA Bomber as well. Someone slightly more competent may have been able to do some real damage.

I've never understood the insanity excuse for committing violent crime and those who think the poor little perpetrator needs to 'get the help they need' instead of being imprisoned or better yet executed. If you murder someone, it shouldn't matter if your sane or crazy. The punishment should be the same.

Yup crazies on both sides. Don't pretend its all about MAGA, the dems have their crazies throwing bombs at ICE centers to.

I think we left that quaint notion behind some time ago, though if I remember correctly, during his campaign Bill Clinton presided over the execution of someone in Arkansas who said he planned to vote for him.

Wait a second. This was a Law and Order Episode!

That's from December 2009. Life imitates art. Wild! Dick Wolf, you've done it again!

Oh, it's not as simple as "insanity." According to his Defense, he wasn't just insane. He was an avid FOX News viewer. Why would they do that if "fair and balanced," as its viewers like to claim, is the truth?

Aside from offering its viewers emotional salvation for a world that terrifies them, FOX personalities have spent years and years delivering pure hatred towards "the left" in such an unhealthy manner that a guy like Donald Trump can come along, play the radical game, and brainwashed conservatives everywhere fall to worship him as a demagogue.

The problem with "crazies on both sides," is that it avoids the issue at hand and the long history of right-wing nut cases that now carry the American flag right next to the average Conservative as if the fit is natural. It's also an attempt to excuse the steaming pile of **** on your carpet because a fly pooped on the window sill. This guy, as defended by his lawyers, was a Trump loyalist and an avid FOX news viewer. They don't argue that he is just a "crazy." They argue that he was manipulated by powerful entities in our country that capture the devotional attention of far too many Americans. Which Democratic politician or news outlet did this incendiary man worship?

Study after study, over the course of many years, has proven that FOX News viewers are the least informed and the most susceptible to manipulation. This became such a great problem in America that in 2016 Conservatives everywhere cheered obnoxiously for a man who received equally loud cheers from Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists. They weren't and are not defined for their Conservatism anymore...only their irrational hate for "the left."

So what does the first thing that this terrorists' Defense do? It goes right to Trump and FOX News. His lawyers chose FOX News as a defense for a reason. Trump doesn't get to use FOX News' years and years of political manipulations to stir up the radicalism of his constituent base, and not expect negative activity based on those emotions. Trump doesn't get to encourage Neo-Nazis and Clansmen at his rallies in the belief that they are finally being represented and not expect a back lash accusation of racism. But be careful. If you dare criticize Trump for his numerous foreign policy gaffes and constant domestic diarrhea and perpetual personality problems, or even try to stand for what a Conservative used to pretend to be, you will be labeled a "RHINO" and cast out of the tribe. And of course, honorable men like Ralph Peters, Mattis, and Kelley will simply be branded as traders. They don't know how to define themselves anymore. And this is a product of FOX News propaganda.

It is certainly not as simple, as trivial, or as dismissive as "crazies on both sides."

This guy was not anymore insane than the next political radical. We may as well call violent Islamists insane. They are what they are because they chose long ago to walk a radical path of extremism.

But insanity does matter to the next "sane or crazy" (and their possible victims) who exhibits symptoms that we may have seen and recorded before. Punishment is about the past. Understanding why is about the future.

The punishment isn't the same for obvious reasons. For example: A mother who experiences mind-altering Postpartum Depression and does something bad, would not have done that before her brain chemistry was altered. She is hardly just a cold-blooded baby killer or serial killer. But because we don't rush to try and execute because murder is murder, we have a greater understanding of the signs and the remedies for future cases.

Another example: Murder is murder, yet the guy that just killed a kid with his car is hardly Bundy. You may declare that manslaughter is not like murder, but was he drunk? Sober hit kids on accident to.

My point is that circumstances matter. Otherwise we should just simplify our world and go Sharia (where the punishment is supposed to be the same).
