In honour of the US appointing Elliott Abrams as special envoy for Venezuela I offer this ditty by Bad Religion:
This is the neocon who tried to cover up the El Mozote massacre in El Salvador, who was instrumental in the Iran-Contra Affair, who lied to and obstructed Congress, who was knee-deep in the 2003 Iraq debacle and who is now leading the political drive for what is looking more and more like a US-backed coup d'etat in Venezuela. Well done America on once again sending lawyers, guns and money to make a bad situation so much worse. Warren Zevon is no doubt both smiling and spinning in his grave.
