President Emmanuel Macron told Moscow counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday that France is ready to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The warning comes after NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg cautioned Moscow against any aggression after "large and unusual concentrations of Moscow forces" were spotted at Ukraine's border in recent weeks.
In a telephone conversation lasting for one hour and 45 minutes Macron expressed "our deep concern and our willingness to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine," the French president's office said.

6th French Light Armoured Division participated in the hugely famous "left hook" maneuver supported by selected regiments of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division, the 82nd Airborne and the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division. After moving east with the main force the French 6th shifted north with a regiment of the 82nd AD to secure the Operation's left flank and take control of the major highways to the area from Baghdad.


On 24 February 1991, the ground phase began. Reconnaissance units of the 11,000 strong 6th French Light Armoured Division advanced into Iraq. Three hours later, the French main body attacked supported by 4,000 U.S. troops. The initial objective for the French was an airfield 90 miles (140 km) inside Iraq at As-Salman. Reinforced by the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment[6] from the US 82nd Airborne Division, the French crossed the border unopposed and attacked north. The French then came across elements of the 45th Iraqi Mechanised Infantry Division. After a brief battle, supported by French Army missile-armed Aérospatiale Gazelle attack helicopters, they controlled the objective and captured 2,500 prisoners. By the end of the first day, the French 6th Light Armoured Division, supported by one regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division had secured its objectives and continued the attack north, securing the major highways from Baghdad to southern Iraq.

French Air Force SEPECAT Jaguars undertook ground attack missions, Mirage F1s undertook ground attack and reconnaissance missions and Mirage 2000s provided fighter air cover. The French suffered no loss of the 40 aircraft deployed in any engagements in the war while four Jaguars were damaged by anti-aircraft fire.[5]

The French naval part of the operation was carried out by three A 69 type Avisos, organised around the frigates Dupleix and Montcalm, supported by the tanker Durance with the frigate La Motte-Picquet and fleet escort Du Chayla. The ships enforced the embargo against Iraq by controlling merchant shipping, including 28 586 controls and the boarding of over 1000 ships for further inspection while 14 warning shots were fired.

If you speak of Donbuss that is separatist forces with Russian aid.

Your grasping.

There is tremendous tension between Ukraine and Russia. Russia having invaded Ukraine and taken part of it 7 years ago.

Russia masses troops on Ukraine border, plays war games there. Etc.

France said they would back Ukraine in the event of another invasion.

Those are the facts.

Back Russia if you want.
 

Russia is where it wants to be. It doesn't need another under performing Oblast. (Crimea being the gem of the Ukraine)

There is no need to invade.

As long as Donbass is in turmoils Ukraine will not be part of NATO which is one of Putin's end games.

We perform war games on North Koreas doorstep, in the Taiwan area, etc.
