Lukashenka Says Belarus Will Never Be Part Of Russia

I always hated the conflict that was either always on the top of the issue, or just simmering beneath the surface here.

If these people just unified, they'd be very strong. But we have too many people, carrying too many old rivalries & hatreds with them.

Many peoples - such as Ukraine and Belarus - have no desire to be absorbed by the Russian Federation.

well, who want ? i Know that even Abkhazians dont want , and ready to fight Muscovites

Lukashenka refused to attend WWII ceremonies in Poland because the Poles didn't invite Putin.

He really looks like a Putin puppet when he does **** like this.

Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka says his country will never be part of the Russian Federation (muscovite empire ).

This article was published in December, 2018. Since then, Russia and Belarus reached an integration development agreement in July, 2019, which was why John Bolton visited Belarus this week. “It’s been the consistent policy of the United States since [the collapse of the Soviet Union] that we support the sovereignty and independence of the countries,” Bolton told reporters.

Of course, who would want to even remotely risk losing their identity as a sovereign people.

But unification would not be totally out of the question. The real problem remains in how it is to be achieved.

The Union Treaty has lain dormant for decades. The only reason Putin is reviving it now is because it would afford him a way around the Russian Constitution not permitting him a third consecutive term as RF president.

A formal union with Belarus would require that the Russian Constitution be re-written, thus term limits could legally be removed.

not at all. its pure Byzantine diplomacy of this President (dictator , using it in neutral form) , meanwhile today

Very pleased to start a conversation among my Polish, Ukrainian, and Belarusian counterparts in Warsaw today. We share common concerns over regional stability and are committed to strengthening the sovereignty and security of our nations.

I heard as much, yes. Though given the divide between our countries, I can bet there is something else going on that we just haven't heard about yet. Which would be the usual case.
