Corporate loser Democrats are hap-hap-happily fundraising off the upcoming SCOTUS ruling on abortion rights (it's what they do; political theatre and fundraising), while having the power to protect these rights by ending the filibuster. An excellent point was made on TYT. When Republicans retake control of government, what are the chances they'll carve out an exception to make abortion illegal across the nation? I would say close to 100%. Remember, you being able to chart your own life and destiny doesn't conform with right-wing beliefs.

Joe Manchin will make a frowny face, a la Susan Collins on being 'betrayed by the SCOTUS nominees', which will amount to nothing in the real world.

As always, the Dems are the real bad guys here!

I don't know if they're the bad guys, but they certainly don't know how to get out of their own way.

This dumb bullshit is exactly why we're stuck with right wingnut courts taking away rights.

No, dumb shit is pretending that Democrats have any intention of protecting anyone from 'the real bad guys', even when given the power to do so.

Wait, what's that sound? I hear Nancy Pelosi banging her donation cup. Don't worry she'll spread the cash around to Henry Cueller.

Pelosi's House already passed abortion protections.

iIts ironic for a self described socialist to describe us Dems as 'losers'. I can't help noticing a wide disparity in the numbers between the two in both houses.

Political theatre that is designed for suckers.
Yeah, it's time for them to start playing the dirty right-wing game and expand the Supreme Court to 13 Justices with a simple majority vote. Biden will immediately then nominate 4 new Justices making it a 7-6 left majority. You know Mitch would do it if things were reversed.

Funny, I hear the same thing from the right-wing. I'd say that's the start of a coalition, just one I'm not interested in.

What should I call a party that had super-majorities in the House and Senate in 2008 and couldn't enact anything but a Republican agenda?

Lets say Democrats are not losers. What's the game plan?

Loser Naderites in 2000 and leftist turds in 2016 put five Republicans on the Supreme Court.

People are outraged now that Roe v Wade is dead but this Court and the Republican party in general was already there at least a year or two ago, with these extreme abortion laws. Republicans have been telling us all along what they intend to do and it frankly doesn't really move the needle much. If the Court came out with a decision like this in the 1980s, the GOP would be pissing in their pants and signing their political wills, but it's a different generation now. Lots of women don't have sexual partners, don't intend to get married, and take contraception.

The important thing to remember is, this decision isn't the end game; there's more to come. Roe v Wade was just the beginning. If Republicans retake power of the Congress and WH in 2024-25, there will be a federal law banning abortion, and they will remove the filibuster to pass it. Around the same time, in the state legislatures, they will also make it harder and harder for the 'wrong' voters to vote, and they will make it easier for state election officials to throw out votes they don't like. We're walking into a nightmare and I don't think most people even think about it much.

You seem very confused.

GO BACK and look at Joe Biden 20 years ago talking about abortion, absolutely oppossed to it. He ran for President twice as a candidate that was pro-life as his religion would suggest. Then, he finally figured it out. He couldn't have any pro life convictions and be a democrat for President. What to do? Change his position, shift with the wind and the polling in his party, but not all the polling the far left polling. So we have a man who has no convictions that are important enough to stand on, not life for sure.

Killing babies doesn't conform to those who support the GOP. When you are pregnant, usually because of your choices to have consensual sex, and you don't take proper precautions to prevent the pregnancy, you wind up with another life that you are now responsible for. Own up to your responsibility because of your action. No surprise that the left doesn't support that, they don't support criminals being held accountable, they don't expect illegal immigrants to be held accountable, so why expect pregnant women and the men who got them pregnant to be accountable.
You don't want a baby, keep you pants on! Thats pretty much fool proof.

What would be the grounds for shooting it down?

Because they can - they'll figure out how to write the opinion later.

People think that the Republicans, including the ones in the judiciary, are still playing by rules and respecting conventions. They aren't. They want power, and they intend to get it.

Interesting argument….
