Who else loves the movies and books?

They better bring back Jackson for the Hobbit too.

Alas, it's not looking good. Jackson and the studio are in a legal battle over money that he says that they owe him.

Ultimately, the studios are interested in money not the art. For that reason I don't see why the studio wouldn't recognize that by not cutting him his check they will lose an enormous amount of money by not having him on board.

I stay positive.

I agree. Any other director is going to give it a different feel and therefore separate it from Peter Jackson's trilogy.

Here's the article I read.

I hope that things can be resolved somehow and that Jackson will end up directing.

Isn't Peter Jackson working on a Halo movie at the moment?

As for the Tc's question... One Ring to Rule them All :rofl

If you watched Clerks 2 you would understand.

Great movies but the books were better.

There's only one return and it ain't of the king...it's of the Jedi.

I hope that they make a movie of the Silmarillion.

that would be...amazing.

I've tried at least 1/2 dozen times and just couldn't stay interested in that book. At what point does it turn amazing?

To the original question, yes I loved them both. It's rare to find a movie that does the book justice, and these did.

I've never read the books. Only seen the first movie and nearly fell asleep during it.

Truer words were never spoken.

No, it would be amazing because, they could like...make it more than just a whole book of background crap for LOTR.
