I didn't see an active thread on long covid, so I'm starting this one so that we can share experiences and resources for diagnosis and treatment.
Based on this testing developed by Dr. Bruce Patterson's group, my 20-year-old daughter is confirmed to have long covid:
https://www.frontiersin.org/articles...21.700782/full
https://www.covidlonghaulers.com/
The test has 100% specificity (0% false positives), so a positive result is a very strong confirmation of long covid.
She has been ill for the past three months, and had to withdraw from all of her college classes this semester.
She had two doses of the Pfizer, no booster, and the vaccine effectiveness was probably greatly reduced by the time she was infected. I suspect that getting the booster might have prevented the long covid, but I had reservations about someone her age getting vaccinated at all.
She was taking D3 and some other supplements for prevention, but probably not doing it consistently enough. Her D3 level was not much above 30, which is too low.
Her doctor has had her on most of the supplements in this protocol since the long covid started, and now that we've confirmed that it's long covid, can maybe start some of the meds, but we will work with Dr. Patterson's team and our local doc to come up with a treatment protocol.:
