Pelosi: Important to understand the 'brilliance' of Biden's response to Russian invasion
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday celebrated President Biden's response to a Russian invasion in Ukraine, telling reporters that his experience in government has helped him to understand "the arena."

"I think it's really important for people to understand the brilliance with which President Biden is conducting this," Pelosi said Friday, per Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram. "This is a man who served decades as chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He knows the arena. He knows the personalities."

PELOSI DEFENDS BIDEN'S SANCTIONS AGAINST ‘TYRANT’ PUTIN'S INVASION OF UKRAINE: ‘TOTAL ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY’

On Wednesday, Pelosi defended Biden after he imposed a series of sanctions on Russia.

"It's stunning to see in this day and age a tyrant roll into a country. This is the same tyrant who attacked our democracy in 2016," she said.

Joe Brandon's response has been pathetic. Notice he doesn't want to exclude Russia from SWIFT or cut off energy supplies to Europe.

Also, Nancy, this is the same tyrant you pay to import 7% of our energy. Why are you paying a tyrant anything, Nancy?

Brilliant? LOL! More like asleep at the wheel.

So what would you do differently regarding the Ukraine invasion?

Ridiculing people is easy. Tell us what you would do in this situation.

Actually none of that is true, if this person you are speaking of is Joe Biden, your president.

Actually, I think Putin has been shocked by Biden's ability to get the old NATO gang together in the wake of the TFG's disparaging and threatening it.

You would first need to unwind the motivations of US, Western, EU, and NATO policy on Ukraine and Georgia going back 20 years. The US has a history of rushing into conflicts headlong without understanding the nuances of regional players.

The key drivers of policy are EU expansion (economic), NATO expansion (military), and "spreading democracy" (US Hegemony).

Russia has become the top exporter and supplier of wheat, gas, coal, minerals, and steel to the Eastern hemisphere and they are allied with a much larger problem nation: China.

We're better off making friends and economic partners than we are making enemies and wars.

Hey Trumpies, don't forget with all this news about a 21st century war in Europe instigated by Trump's idol that Pelosi is the real probem, ok?

Why does this matter? If someone is lackluster in their response, why does it matter how I, an anonymous Internet personality, would handle it? It doesn't change the outcome.

That was an ignorant comment, but not surprising.
Ignorant comments for an ignorant thread. Are you going to volunteer to push out the Russians? Of course not. You want others to die for your beliefs.

Another that wants to fight the Russians.

Address the OP and comments in #9
Umm, no. Are you attempting to play mod in your own thread?

Why would I waste my time composing a serious response to nonsense posts?

President Biden's response has been anything but "brilliant."

And the opinion of a woman who goes around ostentatiously tearing up State of the Union speeches is obviously someone who lacks good judgment.

President Obama once remarked on the poor quality of Vice President Biden's policy suggestions.

It is a tragedy for Ukraine and the world and even Russia that this aged and cognitively challenged gentleman is in the Oval Office. (No, I am not saying that The Donald would be better. But surely out of 330,000,000 Americans, there is one politician who can gain the trust of Americans and the respect (fear?) of foreign leaders. I have no idea of who she or he is. Do we have an American Winston Churchill? Or Margaret Thatcher?)

Not responding = support combat? That's a ridiculous assumption. You mean, as an American, we aren't able to criticize our weak leadership? All we heard for 5 years was criticism about Trump, yet, no solutions. Why is this different?

Because right wingers talk out of both sides of their mouths. The only thing Putin recognizes is strength by military. Biden's response is not only not weak, but appropriate.

It's appropriate given the outcome ... all talk and no action like his former boss. All Biden has done is initiate sanctions which will only hurt other countries e.g. Germany and the United States, and not produce the outcome he desires. Meanwhile, Biden's approval rating continues to drop into Trump zone. Biden is failing on the metrics he established in 2020 .. He's all talk, until he's in the leadership chair.

You know this is false, right? You just keep saying it because you like how outrage feels.
For one thing Russia represents just 7% of oil imports, not 7% of your energy. For another, the government Doesn't buy a drop of Russian oil. Oil companies buy it.
